Infants with congenital gastrointestinal anomalies (CGIA) experience multiple physiologic stressors, including neonatal surgery, early in life during an essential time of growth and development. Early physiologic stressors such as inadequate nutrition have been linked to altered growth patterns and neurodevelopmental delays later in life. In other groups of at-risk infants, early body composition measurements can be used as predictors of long-term health outcomes more so than weight and length alone. The primary objective of this study is to determine if body composition changes in early life are predictive of neurodevelopmental outcomes among infants with CGIA. The secondary objective is to determine if infants with CGIA have altered body composition over time when compared with healthy infants. The investigators propose a prospective, observational study of infants with CGIA, including detailed chart review, body composition measurements, and neurodevelopmental testing at follow-up. If a correlation between body composition measurements and neurodevelopmental outcomes is established in this population, the addition of body composition measurement to standard of care in the neonatal intensive care unit and in follow-up care could allow for further optimization of overall health and development of this vulnerable pediatric population through earlier detection of growth alterations and informed interventions. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of chronic total occlusions (CTOs) is increasingly being performed in patients with advanced coronary artery disease, but there is limited information on the techniques utilized and the procedural outcomes. The goal of this multicenter, investigator initiated registry is to collect information on treatment strategies and outcomes of consecutive patients undergoing CTO PCI among various participating centers. The information collected will be used to determine the frequency of CTO PCI performed at the participating sites and examine the procedural strategies utilized, and the procedural (both immediate and during follow-up) outcomes. Dravet syndrome (DS) is an epileptic encephalopathy caused by pathogenic variants in the SCN1A gene resulting in medically refractory epilepsy and psychomotor delays. As a pilot study assessing for feasibility, the investigators aim to test whether alterations in cortical excitatory:inhibitory ratio can be reliably recorded. The investigators will utilize transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) metrics of cortical excitatory and inhibitory tone as an initial step towards translating findings from rodent genetic models of DS into disease-specific biomarkers and offer future measures of therapeutic target engagement in this patient population. The COPD Patient-Powered Research Network (COPD PPRN) is a patient research registry with the goal of enrolling 75,000 or more COPD patients and those at risk who are willing to share their heath information over several years and participate in research. The COPD PPRN has built an online platform to allow volunteers to enroll electronically, complete surveys, be contacted about studies they qualify for and become connected to COPD resources. The goal of the registry is to speed research to find better treatments for COPD and ultimately a cure. Read Less

In the Emergency Department, there is no standard of care for pain medication distribution for children with an acute musculoskeletal injury when there is no fracture present. Currently, ibuprofen is a favorable choice for the treatment, but studies have shown concern for delayed healing activity associated with NSAIDs like Ibuprofen. Homeopathic Arnica Montana is a well-established complimentary medicine and may provide a good alternative for managing acute pain from musculoskeletal injuries, especially in children, given the palatability and rarity of side effects. This study aims to compare usual care vs. usual care plus Arnica 1M* (oral) or the placebo for management of pain in acute musculoskeletal extremity injuries without fracture by utilizing a double-blind clinical trial design. This is a protocol to facilitate on-site calibration of the technical aspects of the Siemens Biograph mMR (molecular MR) Positron Emission Tomography-Magnetic Resonance (PET-MR) scanner and the 3T Siemens Vida MR scanner at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (CSMC) Biomedical Imaging Research Institute (BIRI) Research Imaging Core after scanner installation. The mMR is a FDA-approved standard clinical device (non-experimental) and will be used in accordance with clearance and approval from the FDA.
