Improving Immunization Rates in Transplant Candidates Through the Use of a Health Information Technology Tool
Recruiting
Vaccine preventable infections are a serious complication following pediatric solid organ transplant. Immunizations are a minimally invasive and cost-effective was to reduce these infections. Despite the importance of pre-transplant vaccination, the majority of pediatric solid organ transplant recipients are not up-to-date on age-appropriate immunizations at the time of transplant. The goal of this study is to pilot a novel health information technology immunization tool to improve immunization... Read More

Online Treatment Recovery Assistance for Concussion in Kids
Recruiting
The investigators propose to develop a software platform, OnTRACK (Online Treatment Recovery Assistance for Concussion in Kids), for children and adolescents recovering from concussion or mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). The platform includes a mobile application (app) for the patients and their care team (parents, teachers, coaches, etc.), a database server, and a decision support dashboard for healthcare providers. The OnTRACK app prompts the patient to report post-concussion symptoms acros... Read More

Prospective Evaluation and Comparison of Bilateral Synergy Implants and Bilateral PanOptix Implants
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the AcrySof PanOptix Intraocular Lens (IOL) for binocular distance corrected near visual acuity (DCNVA) compared to TECNIS Synergy IOL. Presbyopia correcting diffractive intraocular implants (extended depth of focus, multifocal, and trifocal) provide cataract and refractive surgeons with an effective treatment means for allowing patients to experience increased spectacle independence post-cataract surgery.

A Phase I Feasibility Study of an Intracortical Visual Prosthesis (ICVP) for People With Blindness
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of producing artificial vision in persons with blindness. Study participants will have wireless electrical stimulators implanted into the cortical vision processing areas of their brains. The ability of the participants to perceive artificial vision in response to electrical stimulation will be assessed.

A Phase 3, Multi-Center Study Evaluating PL9643 in Patients With Dry Eye
Recruiting
This is a multi-center, double-masked, randomized, vehicle-controlled study testing PL9643, an opthalmic solution to determine if safe and efficacious for dry eye patients. After a 2-week run-in period, patients will be randomized equally to the PL9643 opthalmic solution or vehicle opthalmic solution administered bilaterally three times a day for 12 weeks. A Data Monitoring Committee will be engaged to review interim data.

Flicker App for Minimal Hepatic Encephalopathy
Recruiting
There is a great unmet clinical need for improved screening for MHE in patients with cirrhosis. We will demonstrate that the Flicker-App can be used in clinic as well as at home by patients with cirrhosis to measure CFF, a proven screening test for MHE. We will optimize the protocol, software, and hardware of the Flicker-App to create a product appropriate for production and distribution to patients

Feasibility Testing an Exercise Program to Improve Cognition for T2DM Patients
Recruiting
This proposed study will advance science by providing evidence on the feasibility of a standardized, rigorously designed and delivered exercise program to improve cognition and plasma brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels for individuals with type 2 diabetes. We will also explore how certain genetic variant may influence exercise-induced cognitive improvements and plasma BDNF levels. Findings of the proposed study will establish a comprehensive knowledge base for future research and de... Read More
