The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if retropubic midurethral sling (RP-MUS) or bulkamide injection (PAHG) at the time of pelvic organ prolapse repair is better from the patient's perspective. The main questions it aims to answer are: What is the average difference in the urogenital distress inventory (UDI) long form score 24 months after surgery for each procedure? Which procedure has the fewest complications and lowest short- and long-term morbidity profile? Participants will: Be blinded and randomized to one of two procedures for the duration of the study, 24 months. Complete 6 total visits for the clinical trial including validated questionnaires. This is a device study that will evaluate the effect of an implanted stimulator on improving walking in people with incomplete spinal cord injury. There are two phases in the study: 1) Screening - this phase determines if the individual is a good candidate to receive an implanted system, 2) Implantation, controller development, and evaluation - this phase includes implanting the device and setting the individual up for system use, creating controllers for walking, and evaluating the effect of the device over a couple years. We propose a randomized pilot/feasibility study comparing oral care treatment as usual (TAU) with Swiftsure SwishKit plus oral care TAU on the presence and magnitude of bacterial load in the oropharyngeal space in orotracheally intubated patients. The purpose of this study is to characterize proprioceptive sensations in the missing limb of upper limb amputees using nerve stimulation, and to develop advanced controllers for moving a prosthesis. Proprioceptive sensations are the sensations that tell individuals where their hand is in space, and if it is moving. The research team uses Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), which involves applying small electric currents to the nerves. These signals are then transferred to the brain just like the information about the individual's intact hand used to be transferred to their brain. This study will test different placements for stimulation and determine which one(s) provide the individual with proprioceptive sensations. The investigators want to know what the participants feel and if the investigators can use proprioceptive sensation to give the participants information about limb movement and position. Read Less

Stroke is a medically relevant problem for the aging population. Individuals with stroke experience a high amount of arm functional deficits despite receiving rehabilitation. Functional deficits can be improved by combining rehabilitation with innovative rehabilitative tools that target the brain mechanisms that guide the recovery early after stroke. This study aims to explore the feasibility of implementing an EMG controlled device in the acute rehabilitation for stroke survivors with severe arm deficit. This study will determine if adding such a technology improve the clinical outcomes for subjects with severe arm impairments beyond the levels achieved by standard care in attempt to increase their chances to independently perform activities of daily living. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of providing sensation of the missing limb to individuals with above and below the knee limb loss. The investigators will implanted stimulating electrodes to send small electrical currents to the remaining nerves. These small electrical currents cause the nerves to generate signals that are then transferred to your brain similar to how the information about your foot and lower limb used to be transferred to the brain prior to your limb loss. Additionally, there is the option to have muscle recording electrodes implanted within the muscles of the lower limb with the goal to develop a motor controller that would allow the user to have intuitive control of a robotic prosthetic leg. The goal of this clinical trial is to understand if offering a high touch engagement with healthcare center catered to men and bedside vaccine access in a birthing center increases men's engagement in preventive healthcare. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does access to vaccinations and overall health education for men lead to increased uptake of vaccines? Does access to vaccinations and overall health education for men lead to increased engagement in overall healthcare of male identifying support persons. Researchers will compare three arms (one that receives an offer of vaccines at bedside in the birthing clinic, one that receives an information flyer about the importance of preventive care in addition to the offer of vaccines and a third one that receives higher level of engagement from patient liaisons as well as the offer of vaccines at bedside) to see if there is a difference in vaccine uptake and engagement in healthcare Participants will complete two survey and one interview.
