A Study of Assessment on Safety and Effectiveness of BWI Pulsed Field Ablation With OMNYPULSE Catheter for the Treatment of Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation (PAF)
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the safety and 12-month effectiveness of the BWI OMNYPULSE™ pulsed field ablation (PFA) platform for pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in the treatment of participants with symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF), an irregular heart rate that causes abnormal blood flow.

Testing Teclistamab (TECVAYLI) in Combination With Iberdomide for Relapsed or Refractory Multiple Myeloma
Recruiting
This phase Ib trial tests the safety, side effects, and best dose of iberdomide in combination with teclistamab in treating multiple myeloma that has come back after a period of improvement (relapsed) or that does not respond to treatment (refractory). Iberdomide is a medication that belongs to a group of drugs known as cereblon E3 ligase modulators. Iberdomide works by targeting and destroying proteins that help myeloma cancer cells to survive. A monoclonal antibody is a type of protein that ca... Read More

Cross-Sectional Evaluation of Persistence of SARS-CoV-2 Remnants After Recovery From Acute Infection
Recruiting
Background: SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes COVID-19. Some people who recover from COVID-19 have symptoms that last long after the active infection ends. This is called long COVID. Sometimes, long COVID can affect the nerves and cause problems with sleep, thinking, the senses, and movement. Researchers want to find out whether people with long COVID have retained inactive remnants of SARS-CoV-2 in their bodies. Objective: To collect tissue samples to see if people with long COVID have rem... Read More

A Study of Pregnancy Outcomes in Congenital Heart Disease
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to determine if a biomarker assay obtained peripartum (1st-3rd trimester and post-partum) in patients with adult congenital heart disease can predict future risk of cardiovascular adverse events and determine if temporal changes in biomarkers levels throughout the peripartum period can provide a better risk prediction compared to samples taken at a single time-point.

Diabetes Electronic Prompt for Improved Care Coordination and Treatment in the ED
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to improve the processes of Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) care coordination and treatment in the emergency department (ED) by utilizing clinical decision support mechanisms in the electronic health record (EHR). The main question is whether electronic prompts triggered by hyperglycemia and elevated A1c results in providers providing earlier treatments and faster time to subsequent primary care appointment and greater reduction in hemoglobin A1c (HA1c). ED clinicians w... Read More

Phase 1 Study of Ibrutinib and Immuno-Chemotherapy Using Temozolomide, Etoposide, Doxil, Dexamethasone, Ibrutinib,Rituximab (TEDDI-R) in Primary CNS Lymphoma
Recruiting
BACKGROUND: * Primary CNS lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare subtype of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. * The outcome for patients with this diagnosis is significantly worse than for that of systemic DLBCL. Most treatment approaches in the past have included high dose methotrexate and radiation treatment. * Most PCNSLs appear to be of activated B-cell (ABC) origin. * Ibrutinib is an inhibitor of Bruton s tyrosine kinase (BTK) and effective for systemic DLBCL of ABC origin. * We propose doing a study in... Study of Skeletal Disorders
Recruiting
Background: There are 461 conditions that affect the bones (skeletal disorders). Many of these are not well understood and do not have any specific treatments. Researchers want to collect more data about these conditions. Objective: To gain more information about the causes of skeletal disorders and how they progress over time. Eligibility: People ages 2 months or older with known or suspected skeletal disorders. Also, healthy family members of affected enrolled participants. Design: Part... Read More

Testing the Effect of the Broccoli Seed and Sprout Extract, Avmacol ES, on the Cancer Causing Substances of Tobacco in Heavy Smokers
Recruiting
This phase II trial tests whether broccoli seed and sprout extract works to break down cancer causing substances of tobacco in heavy smokers. Smokers are at increased risk for developing lung, head and neck, and other cancers. Broccoli seed and sprout extract may help break down and remove toxic substances caused by tobacco use and possibly produce substances that may protect cells from tobacco smoke-induced damage in current smokers.

Investigating Whether Acute Elevation of Fatty Acid Levels Alters Cerebral Glucose Transport and Metabolism
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to understand the role of brain glucose transport in individuals with obesity and the association with cerebral hypometabolism and these individuals' response to plasma glucose elevations. The main premise is that obesity leads to reduced brain glucose transport and that we can measure this reduction with magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). The secondary premises are that this reduction is driven by elevated non esterified fatty acids which act to turn on specific si... Read More
