This prospective, single-institution, observational study explores disease outcomes and toxicities in subjects with gastrointestinal malignancies and sarcoma (bone and soft tissue) who are being treated with standard-of-care therapies including radiotherapy. Recent advances in treatment approaches affected disease outcomes and toxicities. Prospective monitoring of disease outcomes and toxicities using standardized assessments will provide information about recent changes in the standard of care and further refine treatment approaches and prospective clinical trial design. The goal of the proposed study is to compare the efficacy of behavioral treatment (BT) to memantine, a psychopharmacological agent, for BFRBs. 28 subjects with trichotillomania (TTM) or skin picking disorder (SPD) will receive 8 weeks of memantine treatment, followed by 8 weeks of comprehensive behavioral therapy (ComB) treatment. The hypothesis to be tested is that behavioral therapy will be associated with superior clinical outcomes as compared to memantine. This phase I trial tests the safety, side effects, and best dose of abemaciclib and how well it works with radiation therapy before surgery in treating patients with high-risk adipocytic retroperitoneal sarcoma. Abemaciclib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Giving abemaciclib together with radiation therapy before surgery may shrink tumors in patients with high-risk adipocytic retroperitoneal sarcoma. Read Less

Cancer is a condition where cells in a specific part of body grow and reproduce uncontrollably. The purpose of this study is to assess adverse events and change in disease activity when ABBV-400 is given in combination with Fluorouracil, Folinic Acid, and Bevacizumab to adult participants to treat unresctable metastatic colorectal cancer. ABBV-400 is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer. Fluorouracil, folinic acid, and bevacizumab is an drug approved for the treatment of unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer. Study doctors put the participants in groups called treatment arms. Each treatment arm receives a different dose of ABBV-400 in combination with fluorouracil, folinic acid, and bevacizumab (FFB) in escalating doses on two different schedules (safety lead in), followed by low or high doses of ABBV-400 in combination with FFB or fluorouracil, folinic acid, irinotecan, and bevacizumab (standard of care \[SOC\]) \[dose optimization\] on its own. Approximately 206 adult participants with unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer will be enrolled in the study in 65 sites worldwide. In the safety lead in, participants will receive escalating intravenous (IV) ABBV-400 in combination with IV FFB on two different schedules. During the dose optimization participants will receive IV ABBV-400 in combination with FFB at low or high doses determined in the safety lead in. The dose optimization arm will also include a comparator cohort in which participants will receive SOC. The study will run for a duration of approximately 3 years. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at an approved institution (hospital or clinic). The effect of the treatment will be frequently checked by medical assessments, blood tests, questionnaires and side effects. Read Less

This is a community-based study that will engage community and health care stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate a Health Literacy (HL)-informed, culturally- and linguistically- sensitive approach to improving language access services for patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) to promote health equity and reduce disparities in preventive health services use and health outcomes in New York City (NYC). This study will have a total of 4 phases that include a preparatory work phase (Non-Human Subjects Research), a pre-implementation phase, an implementation phase, and a post-implementation phase. Findings from the preparatory work and pre-implementation phase and discussions with key partners will inform the co-design of intervention strategies and endpoints for the later phases (implementation and post-implementation phase). This clinical trial is being done to develop and test how well creative arts interventions (drawing, painting, making sculptures) compared to watching videos can affect symptoms and impact the quality of life in children with cancer. Creative arts mind-body interventions (CrA) are one type of complementary health interventions which have been associated with improved quality of life and reduced symptom burden among children with cancer. CrA is an ideal intervention for children with cancer due to the long hours spent in the hospital setting for treatments, the creativity and developmental focus of children, and their potential ability to communicate more easily through art than words. The OSSIOfiber® Trimmable Fixation Nails are indicated for maintenance of alignment and fixation of bone fractures, osteotomies, arthrodesis and bone grafts in the presence of appropriate additional immobilization (e.g., rigid fixation implants, cast, brace). Our hypothesis is that the use of OSSIOfiber® Trimmable Fixation Nails for treating subchondral insufficiency of the knee will result in improvement of patient-reported outcomes and imaging findings. The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of implanting bio-integrative OSSIOfiber® Trimmable Fixation Nails, organized in a bi-cortical rafter formation within the tibia or femur for the management of subchondral insufficiency. Age-related balance and walking issues increase fall risks, leading to injuries, higher healthcare costs, reduced quality of life, and increased morbidity/mortality rates. Preserving functional ability is a crucial public health priority, with the potential to reduce healthcare costs and enhance older adults' quality of life. Declines in balance and walking ability threaten independence. These declines are attributed to spinal network impairments and may be mitigated by targeted interventions aimed at addressing age-related spinal cord impairment to enhance functional outcomes. However, there is a lack of research into how the aging spinal cord affects balance/walking. In older adults, the spinal cord is less excitable, conducts signals more slowly, and is subject to neural noise. Intervening on age-related impairment of the spinal cord to improve balance/walking ability is a very promising but untapped area of research. A therapeutic approach that combines dynamic balance training with non-invasive electrical spinal stimulation may be effective in preserving functional abilities. This study tests whether electrical stimulation of the spinal lumbar regions is more beneficial than sham stimulation. Read Less
