The Sweet Dreams Study - Accuracy of Sleep Trackers in Children
Recruiting
The study aims to evaluate the accuracy of sleep trackers in children aged 2 to less than 18 years. Children undergoing polysomnography, the gold standard for assessing sleep quality and duration, at Arkansas Children's Hospital may be eligible to participate. Participants will be asked to wear sleep trackers on the day of their sleep test. The data collected from the sleep trackers will be compared with the polysomnography results to determine the devices' accuracy.

The Impact of Low Glycemic Index Nutritional Shake on Glucose Regulation in Overweight and Obese Adults
Recruiting
Low glycemic index nutritional shakes have clinically shown to improve post-prandial glycemic responses in acute laboratory control studies. However, there is limited information on how replacing meals with low-glycemic index shake could impact glucose regulation in free-living adults consuming their own diets. The present study aims to examine the impact of adding the SP Glucose-Assist shake to the breakfast of non-diabetic overweight and obese adults. Subjects: 40 non-diabetic adults aged 2... Read More

Light Therapy Intervention in Individuals With Parkinson's Disease
Recruiting
The study looks to investigate the effects that light therapy delivered to the frontal cortex could have on Parkinson's disease related symptoms ( both cognitive and motor). The therapy is a non invasive technique that deliverers low level wavelength light to the front part of the head for 12 minutes. for this study the therapy will be done 3 times a week for 6 weeks. To measure the potential effects on the therapy in Parkinson symptoms, we will do a set of cognitive and motor test before and af... Read More

Marker Driven Selection of Patients for Prostate Biopsy and Management
Recruiting
The purpose of this research study is to determine if the interpretation of multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) with an algorithm called habitat risk score (HRS) in combination with a panel of blood and urine biomarkers is more effective at detecting prostate cancer than standard of care interpretation of mpMRI with the Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PIRADS).

Comparing Carbon Ion Therapy, Surgery, and Proton Therapy for Management of Pelvic Sarcomas Involving the Bone
Recruiting
This study compares carbon ion therapy, surgery, and proton therapy to determine if one has better disease control and fewer side effects. There are three types of radiation treatment used for pelvic bone sarcomas: surgery with or without photon/proton therapy, proton therapy alone, and carbon ion therapy alone. The purpose of this study is to compare quality of life among patients treated for pelvic bone sarcomas across the world, and to determine if carbon ion therapy improves quality of life... Read More

Cannabis, HIV and Mental Processing Systems
Recruiting
This study employs novel methods to identify key determinants and consequences of concurrent HIV infection and regular cannabis use. This study will acquire extensive phenotype data from peripheral and brain markers of immune activation, brain structure, and neuropsychological performance (NP) in persons living with HIV (PLWH) receiving combination anti-retroviral therapy (cART) (80 regular cannabis users and 80 non-users) and HIV uninfected (HIV-) controls (80 regular cannabis users and 80 non-... Busulfan Sample Collection Study
Recruiting
Busulfan (Busulfex®) is an alkylating drug used as a conditioning regimen prior to allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Busulfan has wide inter- and intra-patient pharmacokinetic variability resulting in variable exposure leading to increased risk of toxicities or sub-optimal treatment outcomes. Therapeutic drug monitoring of busulfan using patient plasma samples would benefit clinicians by providing the ability to personalize the dose to achieve a target busulfan exposure.

Frequent Standardized Oral Care Using Human Milk in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Recruiting
Premature infants are susceptible to complications related to infrequent and non-standardized oral care. Although the benefits of frequent standardized oral care are known to reduce oral dysbiosis (increased level of potentially pathogenic bacteria) and its associated complications in critically ill adults leading to established evidence-based guidelines, no such information exists for VLBW infants. The proposed study will prospectively follow 168 VLBW infants for 4 weeks following birth.

Mindfulness Intervention for Caregivers of Autism in Rural Environments
Recruiting
The purpose of this clinical trial is to investigate the effectiveness of a mobile app-based mindfulness program in improving the mental well-being of caregivers with a child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who live in rural areas of Maine. The primary question the investigators aim to answer is whether this mindfulness intervention can reduce stress and anxiety in these rural caregivers of children with ASD. Participants in the trial will engage in a 30-day mindfulness program tha... Read More
