Elucidating Shared Mechanisms Contributing to NAFLD and PsA Disease Severity With Guselkumab Therapy
Recruiting
While many studies examine Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), little is known about its progression to high-risk nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) in PsA patients. Shared disease mechanisms may explain the increased severity in PsA. This study involves two visits from PsA patients with NAFLD and active disease signs (e.g., swollen joint, enthesitis, or psoriatic plaque). It aims to assess the impact of biological therapies on liver disorders, joints, and skin in PsA patients.

Indwelling Pleural Catheters With or Without Doxycycline in Treating Patients With Malignant Pleural Effusions
Recruiting
This study is designed to obtain preliminary data comparing indwelling pleural catheters (IPCs) versus IPCs plus doxycycline for pleurodesis as treatments for malignant pleural effusion (MPE). Indwelling pleural catheters (IPCs) are commonly used to treat pleural effusions (build-up of fluid in the lungs). Doxycycline is an antibiotic that is also used to treat pleural effusions. The goal of this clinical research study is to learn if adding doxycycline to the use of an IPC can lead to shorter t... Read More

Serial Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scan for Guidance of Personalized Adaptive Radiotherapy for High Grade Glioma
Recruiting
This study examines whether repeated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)s scan helps identify changes in the tumor during radiation and chemotherapy treatment in patients with high grade glioma. Additional MRIs scan may help researchers to see changes in the status of the disease. Seeing these changes may result in changes to the treatment plan.

Smoldering Inflammation in MS
Recruiting
The goal of this observational study is to learn about inflammation in those with relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The main questions it aims to answer are:
* How does abnormal neural inflammation compare to cellular and molecular inflammation in MS?
* Once treated, why does abnormal inflammation persist?

Flexible Intubation Scope With or Without Video Laryngoscope in Supporting Endotracheal Tube Placement in Patients With Head and Neck Cancer Before Surgery
Recruiting
This trial studies how well flexible intubation scope with or without video laryngoscope works in supporting endotracheal tube placement in patients with head and neck cancer before surgery. Flexible intubation scope and video laryngoscope are devices that have a small camera to help the doctor see the patient's airway on a screen. Both devices may help the doctor who gives anesthesia prevent complications from placing the breathing tube (such as pain or mouth injury).

Effects of Acupuncture on Symptoms of Stable Angina
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to determine if a standardized 12-point acupuncture protocol will reduce pain in participants with stable angina.
This study addresses the critical need to reduce persistent pain for angina. The investigators long-term goal is symptom management for diverse women and men with angina, targeting additional angina burden borne of social disadvantage
Participants will be randomized to a 10-acupuncture session protocol, two treatments per week for five weeks, or a... Read More

Effect of Patient Preference for Intraoperative Opioid Use on Early Postoperative Quality of Recovery
Recruiting
Substituting the administration of opioids with a combination of alternative analgesics, known as opioid-free anesthesia (OFA), is gaining in popularity today and is typically administered as part of a larger multimodal strategy. However, OFA adoption is not as common today as one could expect from the potential benefits of limiting opioid use and patient involvement in the decision may impact its adoption. Relevant shared decision-making process with patients concerning the use or limited use o... Read More

Sleep-dependent Learning in Aging
Recruiting
The specific objective of this proposed research is to understand whether deficits in sleep-dependent memory changes reflect age-related changes in sleep, memory, or both. The central hypothesis is that changes in both memory and sleep contribute to age-related changes in sleep-dependent memory processing. To this end, the investigators will investigate changes in learning following intervals of sleep (overnight and nap) and wake in young and older adults.

Sentinel Node Biopsy in Endometrial Cancer
Recruiting
Endometrial cancer (EC) is the most common gynaecological cancer. Current treatment of EC typically includes removal of the uterus and to determine the extent of the disease (removal of fallopian tubes, ovaries \& if required a lymph node dissection (surgical staging)). While lymph node dissection may be valuable to guide the need for adjuvant treatment (chemo or radiotherapy) after surgery, it has been a topic of controversy for the last 30 years. In some patients it causes morbidity, specifica... Read More
