RFA for Superficial Lipomas
Recruiting
Lipomas are non-cancerous growths of fatty tissue that develop under the skin in approximately 1 in 1000 people, though this number may be higher. While rarely symptomatic, they often cause emotional distress due to the unappealing appearance of the mass. Treatment of unsightly lipomas is excision with local anesthetic in the office or with sedation in the operating room. The recovery period is short and the procedure is low risk; however, the result of the operation is a visible scar over the s... Read More

Ponatinib Hydrochloride as Second Line Therapy in Treating Patients With Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in Chronic Phase Resistant or Intolerant to Imatinib Mesylate, Dasatinib, or Nilotinib
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies how well ponatinib hydrochloride works as second line therapy in treating patients with chronic myeloid leukemia in chronic phase that has not responded to initial treatment (first line) with imatinib mesylate, dasatinib, or nilotinib or cannot tolerate imatinib mesylate, dasatinib, or nilotinib. Ponatinib hydrochloride may stop or control the growth of cancer cells by blocking a protein needed for cell growth.

Edwards PASCAL CLASP IID/IIF Pivotal Clinical Trial
Recruiting
To establish the safety and effectiveness of the Edwards PASCAL Transcatheter Valve Repair System in patients with degenerative mitral regurgitation (DMR) who have been determined to be at prohibitive risk for mitral valve surgery by the Heart Team, and in patients with functional mitral regurgitation (FMR) on guideline directed medical therapy (GDMT)

A Framework for Linking Sequential Pattern Rules in DLD: Perception in Toddlers
Recruiting
This broad aim of this clinical study is to assess the hypothesis that morphological and phonological deficits are linked by a broader deficit in sequential pattern learning. This hypothesis applies to learning in general, but is especially critical as an avenue for developing earlier assessments and more powerful interventions for children with developmental language disorder (DLD; AKA specific language impairment). Other populations, such as at-risk toddlers, may also benefit from this new app... Read More

Special Care Patterns for Elderly HNSCC Patients Undergoing Radiotherapy
Recruiting
The number of elderly head-and-neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) patients is increasing; however, the evidence regarding the ideal treatment for this often vulnerable and frail patient cohort is limited. Although the benefit of concomitant chemotherapy has been reported to decrease in elderly HNSCC patients based on the MACH-NC meta-analysis, it remains unknown whether state-of-the art radiotherapy techniques such as intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), modern supportive treatments and al... Evaluation of GeoHAI Implementation
Recruiting
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis have become important tools in public health informatics but have rarely been applied to the hospital setting. In this study we apply these tools to address the challenge of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs) by building, implementing, and evaluating a new computer application which incorporates mapping and geographic data to assist hospital epidemiologists in identifying HAI clusters and assessing transmission risk. We expect that incor... Read More
