The CardioClip study is exploring the use of a wireless sensor to monitor pressure in the pulmonary artery. This sensor is inserted much like the mTEER procedure, a non-surgical method through a vein in the groin. The investigators want to find out if the sensor, by constantly sending information about heart function, can help improve patient outcomes. This means doctors could adjust medications based on real-time pressure changes detected by the sensor. The results from this study will help pave the way for future trials, asking if using these wireless sensors could benefit people with valve disease and heart failure. Read Less

Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) is thought to activate neural pathways that release chemicals which promote plasticity and learning. Previous work has shown that the auricular branch of the vagus nerve innervates landmarks on the external ear. Work from the PI's laboratory has shown that electrical current applied to the external ear modulates physiological indexes of brain states implicated in the therapeutic effects of VNS. The broad objective of this project is to better understand physiological mechanisms modulated by auricular stimulation to support possible therapeutic effects in the form of motor learning. The INTACT trial is a multisite pilot feasibility study aimed at testing the effectiveness of the INTACT Intervention program in improving neurodevelopmental outcomes in infants prenatally exposed to cannabinoids.
