The researchers are doing this study to compare two different types of group therapy and find out whether they are effective approaches for helping breast cancer survivors manage joint pain caused by aromatase inhibitors (AI). This type of joint pain is called AI-associated arthralgia, or AIA, and it is common in people taking AIs. AIA and its associated symptoms can make some people decide to stop taking their medication. The study will look at the effects of two different types of group therapy on participants' cancer-related symptoms (such as pain, fatigue, and anxiety), their ability to continue taking AIs on a regular schedule, and their quality of life. We will measure participants' quality of life by having them fill out questionnaires. Read Less

More than 25% of the patients admitted in the general wards have a history of Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Up to 30% of the hospitalized diabetics develop hypoglycemia (low glucose values); a condition that is associated with seizures, cardiac arrhythmias, and even death. In Veterans, the prevalence is disproportionally higher. It is estimated that 40-50% of hospitalized Veterans are diabetics. In this clinical trial the investigators describe the development of a novel system, the Glucose Telemetry System (GTS), with which glucose values can be wirelessly transmitted from the patient's bedside to a monitor device at the nursing station. The goal of this work is to develop a more effective glucose surveillance system at the general wards, which can decrease hypoglycemia in the hospital and improve clinical outcomes. Read Less

This is a two-part study of BIO 300 Oral Suspension in healthy male and female volunteers. The first part is a multiple ascending dose (MAD) study to test the safety, pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of the drug when given as daily doses over 14 days. The study will enroll three cohorts each receiving a different daily dose: 2000 mg, 3000 mg, or 4000 mg. A fourth group may be added depending on results on the first three cohorts. Each cohort will include 10 participants (5 men, 5 women), with at least 8 completing all study steps. Participants will follow a special diet low in soy-based foods and will fast before certain doses. Blood samples and health checks will be done throughout the study to assess safety, drug is absorption and distribution in the body (PK), and its effects (PD). Safety will be reviewed after each group finishes to decide if the next dose level is safe to proceed. The second part of the study is a food effect study to examine how food effects the PK of a single dose of BIO 300 Oral Suspension. This study will enroll 16 participants (8 men, 8 women) and will be split into two groups: one group will take the drug after fasting for 10 hours and the other will take the drug after eating a high-fat meal. After a 7-day break, participants will switch conditions (the previously fasted group will take the drug with food, and the previously fed group will take the drug after fasting). Blood samples and health checks will measure how food influences drug absorption (PK) and safety. The investigators propose to evaluate the safety of drug combinations in patients with advanced gastroesophageal cancer and other gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies. Finding effective novel therapies for patients with advanced gastric cancer and other GI malignancies is an area of great unmet need. The investigators believe that modulating the tumor microenvironment with biologic agents like cabozantinib will have synergistic effect when combined with checkpoint-based immunotherapeutics like durvalumab in this patient population. There is a pressing need to measure patient-reported symptoms in patients of all ages diagnosed with nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma (NLPHL). This study aims to measure longitudinal symptom burden and treatment tolerability utilizing validated patient-reported outcomes (PROs) instruments. Primary Objective: * To develop the data collection infrastructure required to prospectively collect longitudinal electronic patient-reported outcomes (PROs) survey instruments in adult and pediatric patients diagnosed with NLPHL. Secondary Objective: * To examine differences in baseline and longitudinal changes in PROs based on disease characteristics, disease status, and treatment strategies among adult and pediatric patients diagnosed with NLPHL. This trial is designed to assess immunological biomarkers measured from blood samples that can be used to reliably predict how well vaccines work against symptomatic COVID-19 as well as to evaluate the feasibility of remote, self-collected specimens when conducting a correlates analysis. For a lot of research studies, people need to go to the study doctor's office regularly. For this study, we want to see if it is okay that people do the study doctor visits virtually, fill out questionnaires electronically, and collect their own samples remotely. Participants will enroll in the study after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine in their community, and saliva and blood specimens will be collected at pre-defined timepoints over a 12-month period. Additionally, participants will report weekly whether they experience symptoms of COVID-19, and if so, will be prompted to collect a nasal swab for testing. Most participants will complete all activities remotely and via electronic communications, but a small number will complete activities in person at the doctor's office to provide a comparison group. Samples from the study will be analyzed to determine whether the biomarkers can be measured, and data from the study will be used to evaluate the feasibility of doing the specimen and data collection without the participant going to the doctor's office in person. Low-dose CT Screening has been shown in two large trials in the United States (NLST) and Europe (NELSON) to increase overall survival in subjects 55 years of age and older with a strong smoking history. Unfortunately, in both North Carolina (NC) and South Carolina (SC), subjects are found to have the above referenced smoking history prior to reaching the minimum age in these studies.
