This study will evaluate the acceptability, feasibility, and preliminary efficacy of a shared decision making intervention for adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with sickle cell disease (SCD). 60 AYAs with SCD ages 15-25 and their caregivers and 8 SCD providers will participate in the pilot pragmatic trial. AYAs, caregivers, and providers will be recruited from Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware (NCH-DE), Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL (NCH-ORL), and Nemours Children's Health at Wolfson Children's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL (NCH-JAX). NCH-DE participants (n=30) will receive the SDM intervention including a virtual reality patient health education component, whereas NCH-ORL and NCH-JAX participants (n=30) will receive the SDM intervention with standard patient education materials (print, video). SCD providers will be trained to use the toolkit components and will introduce decision aids during an outpatient clinic visit for AYAs who are candidates for one or more disease-modifying therapies. The proposed research will use closed-loop transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) based on individualized brain networks to establish parameters that can reliably control brain states. This will be tested in healthy aging and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) cohorts. The investigators will study network activation and neural oscillatory mechanisms underlying the network that regulates working memory and then target this network using closed-loop TMS to the Prefrontal Cortex. Investigators will measure the impact of TMS on working memory performance and task-based neural activity. The project will use brain stimulation and network modeling techniques to enhance working memory in healthy older adults and MCI and will demonstrate the value of closed-loop, network-guided TMS for future clinical applications. The purpose of this study is to test the anti-cancer activity of Teclistamab and to compare it with Lenalidomide + Dexamethasone combination in people with high risk smoldering multiple myeloma. People with smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) usually do not have symptoms but are at risk for progressing to active multiple myeloma (MM). Multiple Myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells, which are an important part of the immune system. Patients with active multiple myeloma generally require treatment but there are currently no approved therapies for smoldering multiple myeloma. Youth with public insurance underutilize diabetes care, particularly diabetes technology which is associated with improvement in diabetes-specific outcomes. Thus, we urgently need studies to understand and increase diabetes technology utilization. This proposed research will (1) improve representation of youth in the literature, (2) address the gap in knowledge of barriers and promoters in youth, and (3) identify and address factors associated with diabetes technology uptake and utilization. To correct gum recession, patient's own tissue from the roof of the mouth is harvested and placed where there is root exposed. This is considered gold standard of treatment. Sometimes patient don't want to have second surgical site in their mouth and at the same time do not want to use alternative tissue from human or animal donor. This study is a randomized, controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the effect of Brain CareNotes (a mobile health application) on the burden experienced by unpaid caregivers of patients with dementia and on the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) displayed by care recipients. Over 39 months, the trial will enroll 160 caregivers of community-dwelling patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia (ADRD). MoVE Trial is a randomized clinical trial designed to rigorously test the impact of a behavioral intervention (culturally tailored motivational interviewing - (MOVE)) delivered by trained health coaches, on hemodialysis treatment non-adherence. It is a a two-arm, parallel group randomized clinical trial with 24-week follow-up. It involves completion of surveys by patients enrolled in the study. Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) medication that has been very effective in reducing lupus disease activity and keeping patients stable with reduced symptoms. Despite a track record of safety with regard to infection compared to traditional immunosuppressive agents, the risk of HCQ retinal toxicity escalates with continued use. Evaluation using sensitive standard of care approaches suggests nearly a third of patients accrue retinal damage. Data are needed to accurately weigh the balance between accumulating ocular exposure of HCQ versus the risk of disease flare in a population that may have more inactive disease than younger patients. The purpose of this trial is to address the safety of withdrawal of HCQ in SLE patients =60 years old. The central hypothesis is that HCQ can be safely discontinued in stable/quiescent patients assessed by validated disease activity and flare instruments in the context of serologic, cytokine and transcriptomic profiling. The primary goal of this study is to examine rhythm sensitivity as a predictor of response to naturalistic developmental behavioral intervention (NDBIs) in autistic toddlers. Toddlers receive either Reciprocal Imitation Training (RIT), an evidence-based NDBI that supports children's imitation and social communication skills, or a music-enhanced version of RIT. Throughout their participation in the intervention, toddlers will complete study procedures of viewing naturalistic videos of infant-directed singing and other social scenes while eye gaze data is collected. Photobiomodulation (PBM), is FDA-approved for temporary relief of muscle and joint pain, but there is no indication for TMD. Our goal in this study is to conduct a clinical trial of multimodal PBM for TMD pain.
