This study is to find out how well liquid biopsies work as a non-invasive alternative to other methods of finding cancer cells (such as a tissue biopsy) in patients with endometrial cancer. A liquid biopsy is a blood test that may be able to find cancer cells. Collecting and storing samples of blood and tissue from patients with endometrial cancer to study in the laboratory may help doctors learn how the cells in the blood may change during treatment for uterine cancer. Given the increasing prevalence of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), estimated to be 1 in 68 in the United States alone, ASD has become one of the fastest-growing pediatric concerns. The deficits of children with ASD range across social communication and academic skills. One of the effective interventions that have been used commonly for ASD is the model-lead-test, which includes modeling, prompting children to practice target skills together, and providing children with affirmative feedback or error correction. Previous research has demonstrated that the model-lead-test is successful in teaching different skills for individuals with ASD, including functional, social, and academic skills. The vast majority of the studies had researchers, therapists, or teachers implement the intervention. However, there is clear empirical support and implications for interventions mediated by more familiar persons, such as parents and siblings, which may lead to better effects, maintenance, and generalization due to more practice opportunities in the natural environments. Research has supported the effectiveness of using parents or peers as agents to deliver interventions for individuals with ASD, whereas fewer studies explored the use of siblings to deliver or mediate intervention. As typically developing siblings are an essential part of the daily life of children with ASD, it makes logical extensions to have siblings as mediators to deliver interventions. In the initial findings, the investigators found the typically developing siblings can accurately implement the model-lead-test procedure that improved various skills of their siblings with ASD. This project will extend these findings by examining the efficacy of the sibling-implemented intervention on early literacy (reading) and social reciprocity (conversation and play) of children with ASD as well as the sibling relationship before, during, and after the intervention. The study objective is to assess the impact of an automated electronic health record (EHR)-based intervention that leverages e-prescriptions to support pharmacist adherence to recommended dispensing practices, with the goal of reducing parent dosing errors. Specifically, the study aims are to: 1) Examine the efficacy of the EHR-based intervention in improving pharmacy dispensing practices, including a) adherence to mL-only dosing and b) provision of optimal dosing tools; 2) Examine the efficacy of the EHR-based intervention in reducing parent dosing errors. The study will also explore whether implementation of the EHR-based intervention will reduce disparities in dosing errors by parent health literacy and LEP, and explore the efficacy of the EHR-based intervention in reducing ADEs. A pre-/post-implementation study will be performed with English- and Spanish-speaking parents of children prescribed oral liquid medications in the pediatric emergency room, outpatient general pediatric clinic, and pediatric subspecialty clinics of 2 New York City hospital systems (NYU Langone Health - Brooklyn and NYC Health+Hospitals - Bellevue Hospital). Prior to implementation, e-Rx's will be generated by the EHR in the usual fashion; after implementation, e-Rx's will be generated by the EHR with instructions to the dispensing pharmacy to: 1) keep the dosing instructions in mL-only, and 2) dispense a specific dosing tool based on the amount prescribed. The proposed project is consistent with a growing national focus on promoting the adoption of evidence-based strategies to improve disease management that address the needs of those with low health literacy and LEP from groups like the Joint Commission and the AHRQ. The study intervention is to perform standard somatosensory evoked responses limited to the face during rhizotomy procedures of the gasserian ganglion (trigeminal ganglion) for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. The evoked responses will be measured at two locations before and after the clinical rhizotomy including: the standard contralateral scalp (EEG) and at the gasserian ganglion through an FDA-approved recording electrode. This early phase I trial investigates the effect of dietary and topical magnesium replacement on magnesium blood levels in patients with lymphoma. Magnesium is an element in the body that is important to cell health. The body cannot make magnesium and it typically comes from the food we eat. In patients who are ill, magnesium is often replaced intravenously (IV) through a vein or by mouth. This study may help researchers find out if being on a magnesium rich diet and using a magnesium lotion on the skin helps to keep magnesium blood levels in an ideal range. This study also investigates side effects and quality of life when receiving different forms of magnesium. Read Less

The goal of this research is to increase physical activity among individuals with a spinal cord injury (SCI) through a customized, interactive smartphone-based health app and e-coaching using three phases: (1) leading focus groups of potential app users and clinicians to gain information regarding health apps preferences for optimal consumer use, (2) conducting a usability study of the customized app to determine the quality and implement further changes for optimization, and (3) conducting a sequential multiple assignment randomized trial (SMART) to determine the most effective adaptive intervention to improve exercise adherence. A SMART trial will be used to determine when and how to adapt dosage, timing, and delivery to increase adherence and address low-response behaviors. In Stage-I, the investigators will compare outcomes among participants using a generic, non-interactive exercise app (Group 1) to a customized, interactive app that can gain information through frequent Ecological Momentary Assessments (EMA) that will be used to modify each participant's exercise programs (Group 2). After 12 weeks, participants who are not meeting the exercise guidelines at least 50% of the time will also be asked to participate in motivational interviewing-based e-coaching either two or four times per month in addition to their originally assigned intervention (Stage-II). By completing these three phases, this project addresses deficiencies in exercise levels and compliance by implementing an individualized exercise prescription, an adaptive intervention for low responders, a way to address barriers to exercise, and a free smartphone app for broad implementation.
