Erector Spinae Plane Block Versus Intercostal for VATS
Completed
The Erector Spinae Plane (ESP) block is a new interfascial regional anesthesia technique recently described by Forero et al. Currently the literature shows the ESP block being used for analgesia after thoracic surgery, breast surgery, abdominal surgery (visceral abdominal analgesia in bariatric surgery, ventral hernia repair, cholecystectomy), thoracic vertebral surgery and for pain relief in rib fractures. Taking in consideration the excellent clinical experience, but the lack of strong and hig... Read More

Low-Dose or High-Dose Vincristine and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Young Patients With Relapsed B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Completed
This randomized phase III trial is studying low-dose vincristine to see how well it works compared with high-dose vincristine when given together with different combination chemotherapy regimens in treating young patients with intermediate-risk relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) and giv... Read More

Radium-223 Combined With Dexamethasone as First-line Therapy in Patients With M+CRPC
Active Not Recruiting
More than 90% of patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) no longer responding to androgen deprivation hormonal therapy have evidence of bone metastases. This is a major cause of death, disability, and decreased quality of life.
Radium-223 is radiopharmaceutical meaning that the drug is a radioactive compound used for therapeutic purposes. It is given intravenously (through a vein) every 4 weeks for 6 cycles. Research has demonstrated safety and efficacy in mCRPC pa... Read More

Effect of Multimodal Opioid-free Anesthesia on Return of Bowel Function in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery
Recruiting
The objective of this study is to determine if an opioid-free general anesthetic (OFA) technique utilizing lidocaine, ketamine, dexmedetomidine and magnesium reduce postoperative opioid consumption and speed return of bowel function in patients undergoing elective, laparoscopic, colorectal surgery compared to traditional opioid-containing general anesthetic techniques. It is hypothesized that this intraoperative OFA regimen will reduce postoperative opioid consumption, and expedite return of bow... Read More

A Study of Durvalumab in Combination With Lenalidomide With and Without Dexamethasone in Adults With Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma
Completed
This is a multicenter, open-label, Phase 1/2 study to determine the recommended dose and regimen of durvalumab in combination with lenalidomide (LEN) with and without dexamethasone (dex) in adults with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM).
The study will consist of a dose-finding phase as well as a parallel dose-expansion phase to determine the optimal regimen.

A Study Evaluating Venetoclax (ABT-199) in Multiple Myeloma Subjects Who Are Receiving Bortezomib and Dexamethasone as Standard Therapy
Completed
This was a Phase 3, multicenter, randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled study evaluating the efficacy and safety of venetoclax plus bortezomib and dexamethasone in participants with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who are considered sensitive or naïve to proteasome inhibitors and received 1 to 3 prior lines of therapy for multiple myeloma.

Chemotherapy Before Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation +/- Rituximab in Relapsed or Refractory Aggressive Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Completed
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as dexamethasone, cisplatin, gemcitabine, and cytarabine, work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with autologous stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more cancer cells. Monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab, can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal... Read More

Lenalidomide and Melphalan in Treating Patients With Previously Untreated Multiple Myeloma
Completed
RATIONALE: Lenalidomide may stop the growth of multiple myeloma by blocking blood flow to the cancer. It may also stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as melphalan, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving lenalidomide together with melphalan may kill more cancer cells.

Dexamethasone vs Placebo in the Prophylaxis of Radiation-Induced Pain Flare Following Palliative Radiotherapy for Bone Metastases
Completed
This research is being done because is is not known if dexamethasone can prevent pain flare (their pain temporarily gets worse before it gets better) caused by the radiation used to treat painful bone metastases. Using dexamethasone to prevent pain like this has been studied in a few people and seems promising, but it is not clear if it can decrease the pain or prevent the pain flare before it happens.
