This is a Randomized Study of Early Involvement of Palliative Care Along Side Standard Treatment Versus Standard Treatment Alone in Newly Diagnosed Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Soft Tissue Sarcoma (SARQUALITY)
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to learn whether early referral to palliative care improves quality of life for patients with advanced sarcoma.
Participants enrolled in this study will complete quality of life questionnaires before starting their treatment, and every 6 weeks for 24 weeks.

Multi-Institutional Registry for Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors
Recruiting
First, the investigators plan to use a retrospective analysis to determine the clinical landscape of neurofibromatosis (NF)1-associated malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) and precursor lesions (e.g., atypical or nodular plexiform neurofibromas). A worldwide database will be established, collecting, in a standardized manner, histologic, immunohistochemical, molecular, radiographic, treatment, and related clinical data from centers worldwide with expertise in these NF1-related cancers... The Impact of Procedural Awareness of Knee Injections for Osteoarthritis on Patient Perceptions of Effectiveness
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to determine whether outcomes for patients receiving intra-articular platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for knee osteoarthritis are influenced by observation of the preparatory steps to the procedure. The viewing of the steps involved in the administration of PRP may increase the effectiveness of the treatment in comparison to patients who have not observed the preparatory steps.

Loratadine for the Prevention of G-CSF-related Bone Pain
Recruiting
The research question for the current study is: Is loratadine more effective than placebo in preventing G-CSF-related bone pain during autologous hematopoetic stem cell transplant in patients with lymphoma or multiple myeloma? The hypothesis is that prophylaxis with loratadine will help prevent or reduce the severity of bone pain in this setting.

Autologous BMA Vs Saline and LAM + LP-PRP Vs Saline Evaluations in Knee OA
Recruiting
ABLE OA is a Health Canada authorized (phase II/III) trial \[Parent Control #: 263591\]. A multi-center, prospective, double-blinded, randomized, placebo-controlled adaptive trial to evaluate the efficacy of two minimally manipulated autologous cellular preparations i) bone marrow aspirate (BMA) injection; and, ii) combined lipoaspirate micronized (LAM) and leukocyte poor (LP) platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (OA).
BMA, LAM from lipoaspirate (LA), a... Read More

Big Feelings: A Study on Children's Emotions in Therapy
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about how psychotherapy works for children and adolescents aged 8 - 15 with anxiety, depression, trauma, or disruptive behaviour. The main question it aims to answer is:
• Is the biobehavioural regulation of negative emotion a transdiagnostic mechanism of treatment response in psychotherapy for children with anxiety, depression, trauma and/or disruptive behaviour?
Children and their parents will be randomly assigned to an evidence-based, transdiagnos... Read More

A Study of QBECO Versus Placebo in the Treatment of Colorectal Cancer That Has Spread to the Liver
Recruiting
The goal of this type of clinical trial is t to answer the following question: Can the chance of colorectal cancer progressing be lowered by taking a medication, QBECO, before and after surgery? The goal of this study is to find out if this approach is better or worse than the standard of care for your type of cancer. The standard of care is defined as care most people get for metastatic colorectal cancer. There is currently no standard of care drug being given before or after surgery to prevent... Read More

The Holographic Standardized Patient
Recruiting
The current pandemic has revealed in-person simulation training and evaluation is vulnerable to disruption, and alternatives are needed which allow remote evaluation. The recently developed Microsoft Hololens headset device allows interactable holograms to be inserted into a user's workspace (mixed reality) - permitting the augmentation of existing clinical and training spaces with holographic (i.e. virtual) patients via the prototype HoloSIM software. This study is the first known research init... Read More

CLinical Evaluation of ANtiseptic Skin Preparation in Revision Total Joint Arthroplasty of the Hip and Knee
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare two types of skin preparation solutions (chlorhexidine gluconate-alcohol solution and povidone-iodine solution) that help eliminate harmful bacteria on the skin at the time of surgery for patients having revision arthroplasty surgery of the hip or knee.
The main outcome of interest for the definitive study is the need for re-operation for a wound complication or an infection of the prosthetic joint within one year after surgery.
For the pilot trial... Read More

Methotrexate for Immune Related Arthritis or Arthralgias (IMPACT 2.1)
Recruiting
Many people develop joint pain, stiffness and swelling due to their cancer treatment that targets the immune system.
The severity of symptoms ranges from mild to debilitating and sometimes requires delaying or stopping cancer treatment.
The usual plan is to discontinue cancer treatment and give relatively high doses of a medication called prednisone (a steroid, which is an anti-inflammatory medication which may suppress the immune system), with a gradual lowering of the dose over several weeks... Read More
