A Safety Study of AZD4041 in Healthy Volunteers
Recruiting
This is a Phase 1, single-centre, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, MAD study in healthy male and female adult subjects.
The study will include up to 48 subjects (12 subjects per cohort) who will be randomized 9:3 to active drug or placebo. Each cohort will receive AZD4041 or placebo in a MAD study.
A sequential cohort MAD design will be employed to assure that higher doses are administered to healthy subjects only after lower doses have demonstrated an acceptable safety profile.... Read More

Antibiotic Treatment Of Staphylococcus Aureus In Stable People With CF
Recruiting
This is a randomized, double-blinded study that aims to assess the effect of an oral antibiotic called Cephalexin (150 mg/kg/day) compared to placebo in clinically stable children with cystic fibrosis who have grown a bacteria called MSSA (methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus) over the course of 2 weeks.
A sensitive technique called MBW (multiple breath washout) will be used to look at how well the participants lungs are functioning during the study and to see if the antibiotic improve... Read More

Canadian Observational Study Evaluating the Long-term IMPACT of Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) Modulators on People With CF
Recruiting
This observational study intends to investigate health trends and data in cystic fibrosis patients all across Canada that are receiving modulator treatment so researchers can determine if CFTR treatments are effective over a long period of time and if so, which treatments work best for each individual. The study will collect clinical data from routine standard of care, patient reported outcomes via survey data and samples for a biobank.

Using Antibiotics Wisely - An Antimicrobial Stewardship Program
Recruiting
There are significant variations in antimicrobial consumption across Canadian Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs). Inappropriate and overuse of antibiotics can result in antimicrobial resistance and adverse outcomes among vulnerable neonatal populations. There are limited data on broad-spectrum antimicrobial use, multi-drug resistant organisms (MDRO) prevalence, and effective NICU-specific antimicrobial stewardship strategies. The aim of this study is to develop and implement NICU-specific ant... Read More
