Hypertension Paid Clinical Trials in California

This is a non-interventional study to assess the prevalence of endogenous hypercortisolism (eHC) in patients with resistant hypertension (rHTN) and will enroll approximately 1000 patients at approximately 45 sites in the United States (US). Each patient will have an initial visit for screening. After eligibility is confirmed, a limited exam will be performed and demographic and medical history will be collected. A second visit will be a fasting blood draw at 8 AM after taking 1 mg of dexamethasone the night before at 11 PM. Cortisol level and all other study labs will be included, and a urine test will be done. After the lab results are obtained, a third visit will be scheduled only for patients with eHC and will include a non-fasting blood draw at 8 AM and scheduling of a non-contrast CT scan. Read Less

BP-REACH is a study of a team-based (pharmacist and health coach) program for lowering blood pressure for people with a prior stroke or heart attack in the Los Angeles Department of Health Services healthcare system. The goal of this clinical trial is to test if this team based program is better at helping people reduce their blood pressure than usual care for people with prior heart attack or stroke. The purpose of this study is to measure the efficacy and safety of baxdrostat/dapagliflozin in participants ≥ 18 years of age with CKD and HTN. This study consists of a screening, a 4-week dapagliflozin run-in period for participants naïve to SGLT2i at baseline; a 24-month double-blind period in which participants will receive either baxdrostat/dapagliflozin or dapagliflozin; and a 6-week open-label period in which all participants will discontinue baxdrostat/placebo and receive dapagliflozin alone. Site visits will take place at 2-, 4-, 8-, and 16- weeks following randomisation. Thereafter visits will occur approximately every 4 months, until the 24-month visit at which time baxdrostat/placebo will be discontinued. Participants will continue open-label dapagliflozin for another 6-weeks (approximately), where reassessment of GFR will occur for the primary efficacy endpoint. In the event of premature discontinuation of blinded study intervention, participants will continue in the study and receive open-label dapagliflozin monotherapy, unless the participant meets dapagliflozin specific discontinuation criteria, in which case all study interventions will be discontinued.
