The state of Colorado currently has 49 active clinical trials seeking participants for Diabetes research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs and Englewood.
TrialNet Pathway to Prevention of T1D
Recruiting
Rationale: The accrual of data from the laboratory and from epidemiologic and prevention trials has improved the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Genetic and immunologic factors play a key role in the development of T1DM, and characterization of the early metabolic abnormalities in T1DM is steadily increasing. However, information regarding the natural history of T1DM remains incomplete. The TrialNet Natural History Study of the Development of T... Read More

Pragmatic Clinic-Based Trial of a Mindfulness Based Intervention for Mood Concerns in Youth With Type 1 Diabetes
Recruiting
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a common chronic illness among children requiring a high degree of self-management for good glycemic control. Adolescents are at risk for poor disease management and health outcomes due to a number of factors, including high rates of depression, anxiety, and stress. Accessing support for these challenges can be a barrier to care, so the current study, BRinging Empowerment and Attention to Teen HEalth-T1D, evaluates the efficacy of a virtual, group-based mindfulness based... A Randomized Comparison of Stage-Based Care Versus Risk Factor-Based Care for Prevention of Cardiovascular Events
Recruiting
TRANSFORM is a prospective, randomized, open blinded endpoint (PROBE), event-driven, pragmatic trial in patients who are at increased risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular (CV) disease but with no known symptomatic CV disease. The trial tests the hypothesis that a Cleerly Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) Staging System-based care strategy reduces CV events compared with risk factor-based care.

A Phase III Study to Investigate if the Study Drug Diamyd Can Preserve Insulin Production and Improve Glycemic Control in Patients Newly Diagnosed With Type 1 Diabetes
Recruiting
The objective of DIAGNODE-3 is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of three intranodal injections of 4 μg of Diamyd compared to placebo, along with oral Vitamin D supplementation, to preserve endogenous beta cell function and influence glycemic parameters in adolescent and adults recently diagnosed with T1D carrying the HLA DR3-DQ2 haplotype.

A Research Study Comparing How Well Different Doses of the Medicine NN0519-0130 Lower Blood Sugar in People With Type 2 Diabetes
Recruiting
This study will look at how well a new medicine called NNC0519-0130 helps people with type 2 diabetes lower their blood sugar and body weight. The study will test up to 7 different doses of NNC0519-0130. Which treatment participant will get is decided by chance. Participants will take 1-3 injections once a week. The study medicine will be injected under skin with a thin needle in the stomach, thigh, or upper arm. The study will last for about 40 weeks.

Bionic Pancreas in CFRD
Recruiting
This multi-center randomized controlled trial (RCT) will compare efficacy and safety endpoints using the insulin-only configuration of the iLet Bionic Pancreas System (BP) versus a control group using their usual care insulin delivery method and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) during a 13-week study period in individuals ≥14 years old with cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD). After 13 weeks, participants will continue in a 13-week Extension Phase in which the BP group will continue to us... Read More

MANATEE-T1D: Metformin ANd AutomaTEd Insulin Delivery System Effects on Renal Vascular Resistance, Insulin Sensitivity, and Cardiometabolic Function in Youth With Type 1 Diabetes
Recruiting
Diabetic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease remain the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in people with type 1 diabetes and are exacerbated with longer duration of diabetes and time outside goal glycemic range. Yet, type 1 diabetes is a complex disease with pathophysiology that extends beyond beta-cell injury and insulin deficiency to include insulin resistance and renal vascular resistance, factors that accelerate cardiovascular disease risk. We have shown that metformin improved... Read More
