The goal of this clinical trial is to test whether inclusion of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for Uncertainty-Enhanced (CUE) with Lethal Means Counseling (LMC) is acceptable, feasible, and efficacious in addressing secure firearm storage and associated psychological constructs in active duty servicemembers. The clinical trial aims to: Assess the preliminary efficacy of a LMC intervention, augmented with CUE, on firearm storage practices Examine mechanisms through which CUE and LMC increase firearm storage practices Assess credibility and acceptability of LMC Participants will complete: One baseline visit Two intervention sessions-CUE and LMC Six brief surveys per day for 28 days using a mobile application One mid-point survey and five follow-up surveys Read Less

The investigators are interested in studying the effect of an animated video depicting a nail biopsy procedure on the anxiety, health literacy, and satisfaction of participants recommended to undergo a nail biopsy procedure. The investigators hypothesize that the animated video will reduce preoperative anxiety, increase health literacy, and increase patient satisfaction in relation to nail biopsy procedures. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate whether digital cognitive behavioral therapy (dCBT) can be used to address clinical anxiety in marginalized and low-income pregnant people in California. The main question it aims to answer is: What is the efficacy of digital cognitive behavioral therapy (dCBTI) for reducing clinical anxiety among marginalized and low-income pregnant people? Participants will receive digital cognitive behavioral therapy immediately, or 10 weeks after enrollment (i.e., waitlist control). This study seeks to understand if the medication pramipexole improves social connectedness and functioning in adults (ages 18-50) who experience anxiety or depression. The study plans to enroll 108 participants total across two sites (University of California San Diego and New York State Psychiatric Institute). Pramipexole will be given in a 6-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Social reward processing will be assessed using measures of brain function (fMRI), behavior, and self-report at baseline and week 6. Knowledge gained from this study will help determine the therapeutic potential of targeting the dopamine system to remediate social disconnection as an anxiety and depression intervention. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to evaluate, subjectively and objectively, whether playing music during procedures for treatment of chronic lower back pain has an effect on patients' anxiety and pain. The investigators hypothesize that playing music will result in reduced patient reported anxiety and pain scores and less variation from baseline of vital signs versus patients in the control group without music therapy. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) distraction in patients undergoing interventional pain procedures in the prone position. VR has been shown to improve patient experience during interventional pain procedures, however, many of these procedures are done in the prone position making VR a challenge.
