Early Tracking of Childhood Health Determinants (ETCHED) Study
Recruiting
Background: Children s weight has increased sharply in recent years. This may put them at higher risk for health problems. High blood glucose in a pregnant mother and too much weight gain during pregnancy also may have long-term effects on the child s health. Children who become overweight or obese during childhood tend to remain so as adults. Researchers want to study many risk factors during and after pregnancy, and how these affect a child s development. They will also follow the mother s he... Read More

Family Investigation of Nephropathy and Diabetes (F.I.N.D.)
Recruiting
The Family Investigation of Nephropathy and Diabetes (FIND) is a multicenter study designed to identify genetic determinants of diabetic kidney disease. FIND will be conducted in eleven centers and in many ethnic groups throughout the United States. Two different strategies will be used to localize genes predisposing to kidney disease: a family-based genetic linkage study and a case-control study that utilizes admixture linkage disequilibrium. The center based at the Phoenix office of the Nation... Read More

Genetic Studies of Insulin and Diabetes
Recruiting
The study will allow researchers to obtain blood, plasma, DNA, and RNA for genetic studies of insulin. There will be a focus on the causes of insulin resistance and diabetes mellitus. Insulin is a hormone found in the body that controls the level of sugar in the blood. Insulin resistance refers to conditions like diabetes when insulin does not work properly. In this study researchers would like to compare patients with diabetes and other forms of insulin resistance to normal individuals. The stu... Read More

Social Risk Score, Clinical Decision Support Tool and Closed Loop Referral for Social Risk Screen and Referral
Recruiting
The overarching goal of this project is to leverage health information technology (HIT) to integrate available digital information on social needs to improve care for racial and ethnic minorities and socially disadvantaged populations with chronic diseases. In the previous phases of this project the investigators developed a social risk score to identify social needs among medically under-served patients with special emphasis on application among African American patients with low income and ch... Diabetic Neuropathy in Spinal Cord Stimulator Patients
Recruiting
The objective of this study is to assess the effect Spinal Cord Stimulators have toward improving vascular changes of diabetes mellitus in patients eligible for SCS placement based on their condition of painful diabetic neuropathy; we will evaluate improving their disability and quality of life, improving micro-circulatory changes induced by Diabetes Mellitus (DM), improving macro-circulatory changes induced by DM and improving arterial stiffness of the vessels of the lower extremity.

NYSCF Scientific Discovery Biobank
Recruiting
The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) Research Institute is performing this research to accelerate diverse disease research using cells from the body (such as skin or blood cells) to make stem cells and other types of cells, conduct research on the samples, perform genetic testing, and store the samples for future use. Through this research, researchers hope to identify future treatments or even cures for the major diseases of our time.

FAMily-centered WEight Loss for Black Adults (FAM WEL B-ing)
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn the best combination of family components that yields optimal weight loss among Black adults. The main question it aims to answer is: What combination of four family components in combination with a standard behavioral weight loss program yields optimal weight loss among Black adults? Researchers will compare different combinations of family skills components (communication content, cohesion content, number of sessions, and mode of delivery) to see th... Read More
