There are currently 59 active clinical trials seeking participants for Diabetes Mellitus research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Diabetes Mellitus participants are California, Florida, Texas and North Carolina.
Inflammation, Diabetes, Ethnicity and Obesity Cohort
Recruiting
Obesity affects over one third of US adults (>72 million, with BMI ≥30 kg/m2), and the proportion of US adults with BMI ≥40 kg/m2 has doubled in the last 20 years. Obesity is associated with increased mortality through its linkage to comorbidities including diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea and psychosocial disturbances. Given its prevalence, impact on morbidity and mortality, and economic cost, limiting the spread of obesity and its consequences is one of the mos... Read More

Improving Diabetes Equity and Advancing Care Study
Recruiting
The goal of this randomized trial is to determine the optimal combination and sequence of three enhancements for a team-based care model for patients living with diabetes in Chicago. The study aim is to determine optimization of intervention components. Participants will be randomly assigned to diabetes self-management training or remote glucose monitoring. After 6 months, participants will be rerandomized to a subsequent study arm (including a CHW support program) depending on a tailoring varia... Read More

Genetics Of Autoimmunity In Type I Diabetes
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to gain more information about the step-by-step process that causes someone to develop type 1 diabetes. Scientists think that a person's own immune system, directed by genetic and environmental factors play a major role in its development. Participation involves a blood draw, a brief medical history questionnaire and measurements of height and weight. Some participants will be asked to return for annual follow-up visits for 10 years.

The T1D Exchange Registry
Recruiting
The T1D Exchange Registry is a research study, conducted over time, for individuals with type 1 diabetes and their supporters. Participants volunteer to provide their data for research (for example, by answering questions in annual surveys). Once enrolled, Registry participants have the opportunity to sign up for other studies on various topics related to type 1 diabetes. To participate, you will be asked to: Read and sign an online informed consent form Take a survey describing specific demog... Read More

Enhance Study: Evaluation of Accuracy and Safety of the Eversense CGM System With Enhanced Features
Recruiting
A Prospective, Multicenter Evaluation of Accuracy and Safety of the Eversense CGM System with Enhanced Features. The purpose of this clinical investigation is to evaluate the accuracy of the Eversense 524 Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (Eversense 524 CGM System) and ROME CGM System with next generation feature enhancements compared to reference glucose measurements in adults 18 years of age and older with diabetes. The investigation will also evaluate safety of the Eversense 524 CGM System... Read More

Rare and Atypical Diabetes Network
Recruiting
RADIANT is a network of 14 clinical sites and several laboratories dedicated to the study of atypical diabetes. The objective of this study is to define new forms of diabetes and the unique mechanisms underlying these forms of atypical diabetes. The specific aims are to: Identify and enroll individuals and families with undiagnosed rare and atypical forms of diabetes. Determine the etiologic basis of the metabolic disorder among individuals and families with novel forms of rare and atypical di... Read More

Motor Learning in Individuals With Lower Limb Loss and Chronic Diabetes
Recruiting
Inadequate rehabilitation training after amputation can result in poor patient outcomes, injuries, and wasted healthcare resources. This is a serious public health problem due to an aging population and rising prevalence of diabetes (main cause of amputation in the U.S.). In this study, the investigators will examine the effects of external vs. internal attentional focus instruction on learning of a balance task in individuals with existing amputation and those at risk of amputation (older adult... Therapeutic Plantar Electrical Stimulation Intervention During Hemodialysis to Improve Balance and Mobility
Recruiting
A high prevalence of diabetes has been reported in Qatar with nearly 23% population suffering from the pandemic, thereby increasing the associated healthcare cost. Low compliance with exercise and physical activity in patients with diabetes increases foot risk complications, deteriorates health, and further increases economic costs. This is particularly true among patients with diabetes who are undergoing hemodialysis (HD) process. Exercise interventions have been shown to improve mobility and b... Read More

Finding the Cause for Post-Transplant Diabetes Mellitus After Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplant
Recruiting
This clinical research studies the physiology and immunology of new-onset post-transplant diabetes mellitus in patients undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Oral glucose tolerance tests (OGTT), hyperglycemic clamps, and immune assays will be used to define the mechanisms associated with abnormal glucose homeostasis following stem cell transplantation. Information from this clinical trial could be used to develop standardized screening procedures or to develop optimal treatment strate... Read More
