There are currently 46 active clinical trials seeking participants for Prediabetes research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Prediabetes participants are Shanghai, California, New York and Ontario.
Diabetes Care for Breast Cancer Patients
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to find a new way to make diabetes care better for patients with breast cancer and diabetes who are currently receiving cancer treatment. We will have two groups, the researchers will decide who is in which group. One group will be working with a nurse who is trained in diabetes care while the other does not. This will allow the investigators to see if having a trained nurse as part of the care team can help improve the care the patients receive.

Rural Alliance for Diabetes Prevention
Recruiting
The purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to compare the effectiveness of Cooperative Extension implementing two delivery methods (group video vs. self-directed) and participant recruitment strategies of the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) to adults in rural communities. Exploratory assessments of implementation facilitators and barriers will be completed to determine strategies that may impact intervention effectiveness and that may support or impede the implementation, dis... Cleaner Air for Lower Cardiometabolic Risk
Recruiting
The purpose of this interventional sham-controlled pilot study is to study the effects of using portable air cleaners (PACs) in outpatient adults with prediabetes. The primary aims are to determine the effect PAC's have on glycemic variability and the concentrations of circulating biomarkers of inflammation.

Pharmacogenetics of the Response to GLP-1 in Mexican-Americans With Prediabetes
Recruiting
This project uses both transcriptomic- and genomic-level data to identify mechanisms of individual responses to glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) in Mexican-Americans with prediabetes. The GLP-1 hormone is essential for glucose reduction, weight loss, cardiovascular risk reduction, and renal protection. Newly discovered mechanisms will illuminate causal links between disease genotype and phenotype, which may ultimately guide personalized therapeutic approaches for type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, obe... Food as Medicine for HIV and Diabetes
Recruiting
This is a single-site, open-label, Phase II, community-based randomized controlled explanatory trial to test the efficacy of a medically tailored meal + intensive lifestyle intervention (MTM + ILI) intervention for adults with food insecurity, HIV, and T2DM or high risk of T2DM, compared with a group that receives usual MTM.

Longitudinal Multi-Omic Profiles to Reveal Mechanisms of Obesity-Mediated Insulin Resistance
Recruiting
This 12-week controlled diet and weight intervention study seeks to define the molecular pathways that link excess body weight to the development of insulin resistance (IR). Blood, adipose and stool are sampled at three timepoints; baseline, peak weight (4 weeks) and post weight loss to monitor changes in cellular processes. Additionally, direct insulin sensitivity testing, and radiological measurement of visceral fat and intrahepatic fat content is measured at three timepoints to correlate clin... Read More

Metformin and Vascular Function in Prediabetes
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate whether metformin improves vascular function in individuals with prediabetes. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does metformin improve large conduit artery endothelial function in individuals with prediabetes? 2. Does metformin improve microvascular endothelial function in individuals with prediabetes? Researchers will compare metformin to a placebo to see if metformin improves vascular function in prediabetes. The trial duration is... Read More

Insulin and Insulin Pulses During Fasting
Recruiting
Fasting hyperglycemia contributes disproportionately to nonenzymatic glycosylation and the microvascular complications of type 2 diabetes. However, little is known about the regulation of glucose concentrations in the fasting state relative to what is known about the postprandial state. The proposed experiment is part of a series of experiments designed to establish how glucagon and insulin interact with their receptors to control fasting glucose in health and in prediabetes.
