There are currently 44 active clinical trials seeking participants for Prediabetes research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Autism participants are Shanghai, New York, California and Ontario.
Black Impact: The Mechanisms Underlying Psychosocial Stress Reduction in a Cardiovascular Health Intervention
Recruiting
Lower attainment of cardiovascular health (CVH), indicated by the American Heart Association's Life's Simple 7 (LS7; physical activity, diet, cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index, smoking, glycemia) and Life's Essential 8 (LE8; LS7+sleep) metrics, is a major contributor to Black men having the shortest life-expectancy of any non-indigenous race/sex group. Unfortunately, a paucity of literature exists on interventions aimed at improving CVH among Black men. The team of clinician scientist... Read More

Mastering Diabetes Study
Recruiting
This is a program evaluation that will evaluate the effectiveness of Mastering Diabetes, a therapeutic lifestyle change (TLC) program to control prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. Lifestyle change, focused on dietary change, physical activity, stress management and control of unhealthy substances has been demonstrated effective in preventing the progression of prediabetes, as well as reversal of diabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

Effect of Meal Composition and Timing Modification on Glucose Metabolism, Body Temperature and Sleep
Recruiting
The purpose of our study is to understand the impact of different meal timing alterations on blood sugars, metabolism, microbiome and sleep physiology in people with prediabetes and diabetes; and to study the temperature/heart rate response to different meals in different people.

Dinner Time for Obesity and Prediabetes
Recruiting
Obesity and its metabolic complications are leading causes of global morbidity and mortality. Evidence is mounting that inappropriate timing of food intake contributes to obesity. Specifically, late eating is associated with greater weight gain and metabolic syndrome. However, the mechanism by which late eating harms metabolism is not fully understood but may be related to mis-timing of food intake in relation to the body's endogenous circadian rhythm. Conversely, harmonization of eating timing... Read More

A Randomized Comparison of Stage-Based Care Versus Risk Factor-Based Care for Prevention of Cardiovascular Events
Recruiting
TRANSFORM is a prospective, randomized, open blinded endpoint (PROBE), event-driven, pragmatic trial in patients who are at increased risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular (CV) disease but with no known symptomatic CV disease. The trial tests the hypothesis that a Cleerly Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) Staging System-based care strategy reduces CV events compared with risk factor-based care.

Social Determinants and a Diabetes Prevention Program Tailored for African Americans
Recruiting
African Americans (AAs) have rates of diabetes mellitus (DM) twice that of Whites and are disproportionately affected by leading risk factors for DM - obesity and low-income. A critical strategy in the battle against DM is the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), an evidence-based intervention that significantly delays or prevents Type 2 diabetes through the promotion of diet change, exercise and modest weight loss. However, weight loss from the DPP among AAs is about half that of White participan... Read More

Behavioral Economics for Activity Motivation in Adolescents (BEAM)
Recruiting
There is an urgent need to engineer targeted physical activity interventions that are effective and scalable for obese adolescents and young adults (AYA) with type 2 diabetes (T2D), who often have very low levels of physical activity. The BEAM Trial is a proposed mobile health (mHealth) intervention that uses behavioral economic-informed financial incentives and text messaging to promote physical activity in AYA with T2D and prediabetes.

An Open-Label Pilot Intervention Trial to Prevent Diabetes in Prediabetic Adult Survivors of Childhood Cancer
Recruiting
This is a first-in survivor, single-arm pilot study with the goal of establishing evidence of feasibility and safety of a combined pharmacologic (metformin) and lifestyle intervention (using an existing digital platform) to prevent diabetes in prediabetic adult survivors of childhood cancer. Primary Objective The primary aim of this proposal is to establish the feasibility and safety of a 24-week combined metformin + intensive lifestyle intervention among adult survivors with prediabetes (incl... Project WHADE: A Partner-Based Physical Activity Program for Women
Recruiting
This study is designed to test the feasibility and acceptability of a new method for supporting physical activity among women ages 40-65 who have risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Each participant receives a trained physical activity coach and a physical activity partner; the partner is another woman in the program. Partners communicate with each other between weekly coaching sessions to provide support for physical activity behavior change.

Examining the Effects of Morning and Evening Exercise on Glucose Regulation in Adults With Prediabetes
Recruiting
Purpose of the Study: This study is to learn more about how exercising at different times of the day (morning versus evening) affects metabolism of glucose in the body, sleep, activity outside of exercise, and other factors. Procedures: 2 screening visits to make sure you are eligible to be in the study. This will include a fasting blood draw and heart tracing (EKG). If you are eligible, you will complete both exercise conditions in a random order. All participants in the study will complete... Read More

Diabetes Care for Breast Cancer Patients
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to find a new way to make diabetes care better for patients with breast cancer and diabetes who are currently receiving cancer treatment. We will have two groups, the researchers will decide who is in which group. One group will be working with a nurse who is trained in diabetes care while the other does not. This will allow the investigators to see if having a trained nurse as part of the care team can help improve the care the patients receive.

Cleaner Air for Lower Cardiometabolic Risk
Recruiting
The purpose of this interventional sham-controlled pilot study is to study the effects of using portable air cleaners (PACs) in outpatient adults with prediabetes. The primary aims are to determine the effect PAC's have on glycemic variability and the concentrations of circulating biomarkers of inflammation.
