Insomnia Paid Clinical Trials in Florida

The goal of this project evaluate the efficacy of NiteCAPP in improving insomnia in a rural dementia caregiver sample (n of 100 caregiver and PWD dyads). We will measure both the short term (post-treatment) and long term (6 and 12 months) effects of the intervention on CG sleep, arousal, inflammation, health, mood, burden and cognitive function, and PWD sleep. Children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) are at risk for insomnia, arousal dysfunction, mood problems, and noncompliance. Cognitive behavioral treatment for insomnia (CBT-I) holds promise for improving insomnia and related concerns. Telehealth delivery will reduce the burden of in-person sessions, particularly in areas where there is low mental healthcare access. Telehealth CBT-I is efficacious in adults and children but has not been tested in children with ODD. The proposed trial is the next logical step - development and iterative testing of SLEEP-COPE, a brief dyadic telehealth CBT-I for children with ODD and their parents. Read Less

The study investigators are interested in learning more about how drugs, that are given to children by their health care provider, act in the bodies of children and young adults in hopes to find the most safe and effective dose for children. This study is a prospective two-arm, single blind randomized controlled trial design to compare the clinical effectiveness of telemedicine-delivered, 6-session, standardized cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) and mindfulness-based treatment for insomnia (MBTI) in treating insomnia symptoms and ameliorating depressive symptoms in persons with mild to moderate TBI and comorbid Post-Traumatic Stress Symptoms (PTSS) and insomnia symptoms in a 360 patients. Participants will undergo assessment (psychosocial questionnaires, neurocognitive testing, sleep monitoring) at baseline, at the end of treatment, and at 2-, 6- and 12-weeks post-treatment. Many Veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) have trouble sleeping or have frequent nightmares. So far, no medication has been approved for treatment of insomnia in PTSD. The purpose of this research study is to find out if taking medications called trazodone or eszopiclone can help decrease symptoms of insomnia in patients with PTSD. PTSD is a form of intense anxiety which sometimes results from severe trauma. Symptoms may include nightmares, flashbacks, troublesome memories, difficulty sleeping, poor concentration, irritability, anger, and emotional withdrawal. Insomnia is a disorder that can make it hard to fall sleep, stay asleep or cause a person to wake up too early and not be able to fall back to sleep. Read Less

The proposed study will test the usability and feasibility of a novel cognitive training (COGMUSE) for autistic adults with co-occurring insomnia (COGMUSE- AUT). Participants (n=15) will complete the cognitive training intervention for 60 minutes per day, 3 times per week for 6 weeks at home totaling to 18 hours. Weekly check-ins will be conducted by study staff over Teams to ensure adherence to the treatment and provide an opportunity for qualitative feedback on the game sessions played. During these 6 weeks, participants will fill out daily (2x/day) electronic sleep diaries and wear an actigraph device (GENEActiv).
