This randomized controlled trial is a between-groups design to compare the Motivational and Cognitive Behavioral Management for Alcohol and Pain (MCBMAP) Intervention to a Brief Advice and Information Control condition. Two-hundred and fifty participants who have HIV with moderate or greater chronic pain will be randomized for the trial. Recruitment will take place through digital media. A unique feature of this intervention trial is that most of the procedures will be conducted remotely which will minimize barriers of transportation and time for participants. Consent and baseline assessment will be completed remotely. Following baseline assessment, participants will complete two weeks of ecological momentary assessment (EMA) to assess alcohol use, chronic pain, physical function and mechanisms of behavior change for alcohol and pain management. Following the two-week phase, participants will be randomly assigned to either the intervention or control condition and meet the interventionist through videoconferencing. The goal of this study is to implement and evaluate a randomized pilot study of a 4-month Nutrition-enhanced community health worker (CHW) intervention for primary care patients with nutrition insecurity and poorly controlled hypertension. The nutrition intervention will be added to the pre-existing Massachusetts General Hospital CHW hypertension (Basic CHW) program that provides hypertension education, coaching about adherence to medications and primary care visits, and home BP cuffs and promotion of BP self-monitoring over the course of approximately 4 months. The purpose of this controlled feeding trial is to establish an Intervention Core, equipped to perform tightly controlled pharmacokinetic (PK) and dose-response (DR) feeding studies. This research is a two-component pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic cross-over dietary feeding trial. * In the PK study, eight foods will be tested, each on a single day, and the design is crossover. * In the DR, the effects of 10 foods will be compared to each other in a randomized, parallel-group design, and the dose-effect of each of the 10 foods will be determined in a randomized, crossover design. The goal of this study is to objectively test one's sense of smell, called olfaction, in participants with Subjective Cognitive Concerns (SCC), Mild Cognitive Impairment, Mild Behavioral Impairment (MBI), and age-matched controls. The main question it aims to answer is whether the AROMHA Brain Health Test could serve as a predictive biomarker of neurodegenerative disorders. This understanding will aid in the development of a noninvasive, cost-effective diagnostic tool that reliably and specifically distinguishes disease and normal aging populations. Participants will take the approximately 45-minute AROMHA Brain Health Smell Test where they will peel and sniff labels on the physical smell cards and answer questions on the web-based app relating to what they smelled. Participants will undergo tests for odor intensity, odor identification, odor discrimination, and episodic olfactory memory, but will not be provided the results of these tests. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to learn more about how to better track smell recovery in people who have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus (which causes COVID-19). Many people who have been infected by this virus develop changes in their sense of smell (olfaction). We are interested in measuring smell function objectively via smell cards that test odor intensity, identification, and discrimination. Objective and precise olfactory testing that can be performed in the convenience of one's home will help identify people with smell loss after infection by SARS-CoV-2. We will use results from this test to better understand the relationship between SARS-CoV-2 infection and recovery of olfactory function and to learn whether the AROMHA longitudinal smell test is a reliable olfactory function tracking tool to quantify smell loss in the context of COVID infection. These results may inform the design of therapeutic clinical trials to accelerate the recovery of smell function. Read Less
