Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Recruiting
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-approved, non-invasive form of brain stimulation for OCD. TMS has been shown to be an effective form of treatment in individuals with OCD. By using a form of TMS termed theta-burst stimulation (TBS), we hope that this will result in a more effective treatment by producing faster symptom reduction. We are trialing a novel form of accelerated TMS, where we will deliver ten 10-minute sessions per day, for 5 days. This study will compare the efficacy of TMS for OCD at two distinct brain regions. Participants will be randomized into one of two study groups, and receive stimulation at either the DMPFC or R-OFC. Both regions have been linked to OCD by research. Patients that don't respond to their study region will have the option to receive stimulation at the other region.

Geniculate Artery Embolization for Osteoarthritis
Recruiting
The need for exploration of more definitive and cost effective non-arthroplasty treatments of osteoarthritis (OA) has been demonstrated by the orthopedic and health economic research.
Embolotherapy of neovessels associated with OA joints has been shown to be promising in patients with knee OA. There is a need for level one evidence drawn from randomized clinical trials to prove the safety, feasibility and efficacy of knee embolotherapy compared to standard of care.

Background. Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the United States and osteoarthritis (OA) of the hand affects an estimated 25.6 US residents. OA of the thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) joint is the most disabling form of hand OA. Rehabilitation for persons with thumb CMC OA is recommended as the initial treatment and often involves instruction on joint protection and fitting of a splint to reduce joint stress and pain. More recently, evidence has suggested that specialized exercise may im... Read More
