Cancer Paid Clinical Trials in North Carolina

NUV-868-01 is a first-in human, open- label, Phase 1/2 dose escalation and expansion study in patients with advanced solid tumors. The Phase 1 and 1b portions include patients with advanced solid tumors and are designed to determine the safety and the dose(s) of NUV-868 to be used as monotherapy and in combination with olaparib or enzalutamide for the Phase 2 portion. In Phase 2, NUV-868 in combination with olaparib or enzalutamide will be given to determine the safety and efficacy of these study treatments. One cohort of patients (with enzalutamide-naïve metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer) will be randomized to receive either NUV-868 monotherapy, enzalutamide monotherapy, or the combination of NUV-868 + enzalutamide. Patients will self-administer NUV-868 orally daily in 28-day cycles as monotherapy in Phases 1 and 2. In Phases 1b and 2, patients will self-administer NUV-868 orally daily in 28-day cycles in combination with olaparib or enzalutamide daily at standard prescribed doses (Phase 1b) or at the recommended Phase 2 combination dose (RP2cD) that is determined in Phase 1b. This is a first-in-human (FIH), open label Phase 1/1b study in patients with advanced metastatic solid tumors refractory to standard treatment. Phase 1 will identify potential optimal biologically relevant doses (OBRD) and the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of MBRC-101 at one 1 or more dosing regimens. Phase 1b will evaluate the safety and preliminary clinical activity of MBRC-101 at potential OBRDs. This phase II trial studies the side effects of intraoperative electron beam radiotherapy boost and to see how well it works in treating patients with stage I-II breast cancer undergoing surgery with reconstruction. Giving a single dose of electron beam radiation to the tumor cavity during the breast surgery before reconstruction may be a better way to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Read Less

This phase I trial tests the safety and tolerability of olaparib in combination with durvalumab and radiation therapy in patients with pancreatic cancer that has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) and cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Olaparib is an inhibitor of PARP, an enzyme that helps repair deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) when it becomes damaged. Blocking PARP may help keep cancer cells from repairing their damaged DNA, causing them to die. PARP inhibitors are a type of targeted therapy. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as durvalumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays, particles, or radioactive seeds to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. The combination of targeted therapy with olaparib, immunotherapy with durvalumab and radiation therapy may stimulate an anti-tumor immune response and promote tumor control in locally advanced unresectable pancreatic cancer. This phase I/II trial studies the safety, side effects and best dose of M3814 and to see how well it works when given together with radiation therapy in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that cannot be removed by surgery and has not spread to other parts of the body (localized). M3814 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Hypofractionated radiation therapy delivers higher doses of radiation therapy over a shorter period of time and may kill more tumor cells and have fewer side effects. Giving M3814 and hypofractionated radiation therapy together may be safe, tolerable and more effective than radiation therapy alone in treating patients with localized pancreatic cancer. Read Less

This phase III trial compares an additional support program (text message reminders and/or telephone-based counseling) with usual care in making sure breast cancer patients take their endocrine therapy medication as prescribed (medication adherence). Medication adherence is how well patients take the medication as prescribed by their doctors, and good medical adherence is when patients take medications correctly. Poor medication adherence has been shown to be a serious barrier to effective treatment for hormone receptor positive breast cancer patients. Adding text message reminders and/or telephone-based counseling to usual care may increase the number of days that patients take their endocrine therapy medication as prescribed. Read Less
