Autologous CAR T-Cells Targeting the GD2 Antigen for Lung Cancer
Recruiting
This is a phase 1, single-center, open-label study that enrolls adult subjects with extensive stage lung cancer or stage IV non-small cell lung cancer that is platinum-refractory and received PD-1 and/or PD-L1 therapy. The purpose of this study is to test the safety of using a new treatment called autologous T lymphocyte chimeric antigen receptor cells against the GD2 antigen (iC9-GD2.CAR.IL-15 T cells) in subjects with lung cancer. How much (dose) of the iC9-GD2.CAR.IL-15 T cells are safe to us... Read More

Surgery Versus Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Stage I Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Recruiting
The development of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for the treatment of stage I non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has inspired a close partnership between thoracic surgery and radiation oncology. In this study, patients with stage I NSCLC will be screened prior to treatment and will be consented after their treatment plan has been determined. Prospectively collected patient-reported outcomes (PROs) will be collected for 3 years, as will outcomes data.

Study of Trilaciclib and Lurbinectidin
Recruiting
Lung cancer is by far the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women worldwide and the second most common cancer in terms of new cases. Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is the deadliest form of lung cancer. The standard first-line treatment is the combination of carboplatin, etoposide, and atezolizumab. While response rates for this regimen are high (roughly 60%), the duration of response is short, typically 4 months. Following progression after the 1st line treatment of SCLC, there is... Read More

UNC Pleural Fluid Registry
Recruiting
Research with biospecimens such as blood, tissue, or body fluids can help researchers understand how the human body works. Researchers can make new tests to find diseases, understand how treatments work, or find new ways to treat a disease. The purpose of this study is to collect biospecimens for research from patients with known or suspected lung cancer. The information learned from the biospecimens may be used in future treatments. The purpose of this protocol is to create a pleural fluid regi... Read More

Paclitaxel Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in Cancer Patients
Recruiting
The goals of this prospective, observational cohort study are to determine the feasibility of implementing paclitaxel therapeutic drug monitoring for cancer patients and explore the relationship between paclitaxel drug exposure and the development of neuropathic symptoms. This trial studies if paclitaxel can be consistently measured in the blood of patients with solid tumors undergoing paclitaxel treatment. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growt... Read More

Quick Start Durvalumab Following Chemoradiation for Stage III Nonsmall Cell Lung Cancer
Recruiting
This research study aims to determine what effects (good and bad) Durvalumab has on participants and their cancer with a "quick start" of Durvalumab within 14 days of finishing chemotherapy and radiation. The study will also determine the logistic barriers to the quick start of Durvalumab.
