The state of Ohio currently has 500 active clinical trials seeking participants for Cancer research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland and Dayton.
Biologically Optimized Infusion Schedule of Gemcitabine and Nab-Paclitaxel for the Treatment of Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies how well a biologically optimized infusion schedule of gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel works in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Altering the timing of the nab-paclitaxel infusion may... Read More

Beating Lung Cancer in Ohio Protocol in Improving Survival in Patients With Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Recruiting
This randomized clinical trial studies the Beating Lung Cancer in Ohio protocol in improving survival in patients with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer. The Beating Lung Cancer in Ohio protocol may help in evaluating immunotherapies and targeted therapies that prolong survival, have more favorable toxicity profiles than conventional chemotherapy and impact quality of life.

MammaPrint, BluePrint, and Full-genome Data Linked With Clinical Data to Evaluate New Gene EXpression Profiles
Recruiting
The FLEX Registry will be implemented to operate as a large-scale, population based, prospective registry. All patients with stage I to III breast cancer who receive MammaPrint® and BluePrint testing on a primary breast tumor are eligible for entry into the FLEX Registry, which is intended to enable additional study arms at low incremental effort and cost. FLEX Registry will utilize an adaptive design, where additional targeted substudies and arms can be added after the initial study is opened.

Temozolomide and Atezolizumab as Second or Third Line for the Treatment of Metastatic or Recurrent Small Cell Lung Cancer
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies the effects of temozolomide and atezolizumab as second or third line treatment for patients with small cell lung cancer that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic) or has come back (recurrent). Chemotherapy drugs, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as atezolizumab, may... Read More

Papaverine in Combination With Chemoradiation for the Treatment of Stage II-III Non-small Cell Lung Cancer
Recruiting
This phase I trial finds out the best dose, possible benefits and/or side effects of papaverine when given together with chemoradiation intreating patients with stage II-III non-small cell lung cancer. Papaverine targets mitochondrial metabolism to decrease the cancer growth process. Giving papaverine with chemoradiation may work best to treat patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

Childhood Cancer Survivor Study
Recruiting
The Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS) will investigate the long-term effects of cancer and its associated therapies. A retrospective cohort study will be conducted through a multi-institutional collaboration, which will involve the identification and active follow-up of a cohort of approximately 50,000 survivors of cancer, diagnosed before 21 years of age, between 1970 and 1999 and 10,000 sibling controls. This project will study children and young adults exposed to specific therapeutic mod... Read More

A Video Intervention to Improve Patient Understanding of Tumor Genomic Testing in Patients With Metastatic Cancer
Recruiting
This clinical trial tests whether a video intervention improves patient understanding of tumor genomic testing in patients with cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic). Measuring how the video intervention affects patient understanding of tumor genomic testing in patients with metastatic cancer may help doctors provide patient-centered care by effectively communicating the importance of tumor genomic testing.

Biomarker Verification in Pediatric Chronic GvHD: ABLE 2.0 / PTCTC GVH 1901 Study
Recruiting
This study will validate a previously developed pediatric prognostic biomarker algorithm aimed at improving prediction of risk for the later development of chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGvHD) in children and young adults undergoing allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant. By developing an early risk stratification of patients into low-, intermediate-, and high-risk for future cGvHD development (based upon their biomarker profile, before the onset of cGvHD), pre-emptive therapies aim...
