Cancer Paid Clinical Trials in Ohio

This is a Phase 1/2, multi-center, open-label basket study designed to evaluate the safety and anti-tumor activity of IDE196 in patients with solid tumors harboring GNAQ or GNA11 (GNAQ/11) mutations or PRKC fusions, including metastatic uveal melanoma (MUM), cutaneous melanoma, colorectal cancer, and other solid tumors. Phase 1 (dose escalation - monotherapy) will assess safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of IDE196 via standard dose escalation scheme and determine the recommended Phase 2 dose. Safety and anti-tumor activity will be assessed in the Phase 2 (dose expansion) part of the study. Phase 1 Tablet and Food Effect Pharmacokinetic (PK) Substudy will assess the PK profile of IDE196 tablet and evaluate the effects of food on the PK profile of IDE196 tablet Phase 1 (dose escalation - binimetib combination) will assess safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of IDE196 and binimetinib via standard dose escalation scheme and determine the recommended Phase 2 dose. Safety and anti-tumor activity will be assessed in the Phase 2 (dose expansion) part of the study. Phase 1 (dose escalation - crizotinib combination) will assess safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of IDE196 and crizotinib via standard dose escalation scheme and determine the recommended Phase 2 dose. Safety and anti-tumor activity will be assessed in the Phase 2 (dose expansion) part of the study. Evaluation of safety and efficacy across multiple doses may be explored in the dose optimization part of the study. Crizotinib monotherapy with crossover to combination cohort may be assessed for safety and to show the contribution of each study drug to anti-tumor activity. Read Less

This phase III trial studies how well the addition of radiotherapy to the usual treatment (chemotherapy) works compared to the usual treatment alone in treating patients with esophageal and gastric cancer that has spread to a limited number of other places in the body (oligometastatic disease). Radiotherapy uses high energy x-rays, gamma rays, or protons to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Drugs used in usual chemotherapy, such as leucovorin, 5-fluorouracil, oxaliplatin, and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Adding radiotherapy to the usual chemotherapy may work better compared to the usual chemotherapy alone in treating patients with esophageal and gastric cancer. Read Less

This research study is investigating the safety and effectiveness of using combination of isatuximab, lenalidomide and dexamethasone for the treatment of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM). The study team will use lower doses than is currently standard for these drugs. Lower doses will be used to avoid or possibly reduce any unwanted side effects commonly associated with these drugs. Using lower doses of the combination isatuximab, lenalidomide and dexamethasone, has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of newly diagnosed MM. Read Less

This phase I trial studies the side effects of hyperthermic intraepithelial chemotherapy with cisplatin after surgery or cisplatin before surgery in treating patients with stage III or IV ovarian, fallopian tube or peritoneal cancer receiving chemotherapy before surgery. Hyperthermic intraepithelial chemotherapy involves the infusion of heated cytotoxic chemotherapy that circulates into the abdominal cavity at the time of surgery. Chemotherapy drugs, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving hyperthermic intraepithelial chemotherapy with cisplatin after surgery or cisplatin before surgery may kill more tumor cells compared to usual care. Read Less

This study offers Hispanic women who are eligible for cervical cancer screening residing in the Cleveland metropolitan area one of two possible community outreach-based cervical cancer screening modalities, self-collection home HPV test or clinic-based pap test, which is the current standard of care, to assess if these strategies improve cervical cancer screening rates in this population group. This phase III trial compares the effect of active symptom monitoring and patient education to patient education alone in helping young women with stage I-III breast cancer stay on their hormone therapy medicines. The patient education tool contains interactive weblinks which provide patients with education material about breast cancer and side effects of therapy. Symptom monitoring is a weblink via email or text message with questions asking about symptoms. Hormone therapy for breast cancer can cause side effects, and may cause some women to stop treatment early. Asking about symptoms more often may help women keep taking hormone therapy medicines. This study is an open-label, Phase 1, multicenter study to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamic (PD) profiles of a novel fragment crystallizable (Fc)-engineered immunoglobulin G1 anti-cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (anti-CTLA-4) human monoclonal antibody (botensilimab) monotherapy and in combination with an anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody (balstilimab), and to assess the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) in participants with advanced solid tumors. This phase I/II trial studies the best dose and side effects of recombinant human EGF-rP64K/montanide ISA 51 vaccine (CIMAvax) and nivolumab and to see how well they work in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer or squamous head and neck cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Vaccine therapy, such as CIMAvax vaccine may help slow down and stop tumor growth. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab and pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving CIMAvax vaccine together with nivolumab or pembrolizumab may work better in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer or squamous head and neck cancer. Read Less

Sexual and gender minority (SGM) individuals experience significant cancer-related health disparities across the cancer continuum. The overall goal of this proposal is to assess multi-level barriers associated with sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) data collection in the health record as well as implementation factors including feasibility, acceptability, and data completeness. The results of this study will make a significant impact by making SOGI data available for research, addressing barriers to SOGI data collection in a large comprehensive cancer center, and informing compassionate cancer care for SGM people. This phase III trial compares the effects of shorter chemotherapy (chemo)-immunotherapy without anthracyclines to usual chemo-immunotherapy for the treatment of early-stage triple negative breast cancer. Paclitaxel is in a class of medications called anti-microtubule agents. It stops cancer cells from growing and dividing and may kill them. Carboplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works in a way similar to the anticancer drug cisplatin, but may be better tolerated than cisplatin. Carboplatin works by killing, stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells. Cyclophosphamide is in a class of medications called alkylating agents. It works by damaging the cell's deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and may kill cancer cells. It may also lower the body's immune response. Docetaxel is in a class of medications called taxanes. It stops cancer cells from growing and dividing and may kill them. Doxorubicin is an anthracycline chemotherapy drug that damages DNA and may kill cancer cells. Pembrolizumab may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Shorter treatment without anthracycline chemotherapy may work the same as the usual anthracycline chemotherapy treatment for early-stage triple negative breast cancer. Read Less

This phase II trial tests whether a supportive care intervention (Resiliency among Older Adults Receiving Lung Cancer Treatment [ROAR-LCT]) is effective in improving physical and emotional wellbeing in patients with stage IIIA, IIIB, and IV lung cancer undergoing cancer treatment. Lung cancers are one of the most common cancers. Lung cancers occur in the chest and often cause symptoms for patients. Poor physical performance and negative mood are two risk factors for a decline in functional status. Targeted interventions may address these two risk factors and improve functional status and resilience. Physical therapy and relaxation interventions (i.e. progressive muscle relaxation) are two such interventions that may improve symptoms and quality of life for patients with cancer. Read Less
