The National Liver Cancer Screening Trial is an adaptive randomized phase IV Trial comparing ultrasound-based versus biomarker-based screening in 5500 patients with cirrhosis from any etiology or patients with chronic hepatitis B infection. Eligible patients will be randomized in a 1:1 fashion to Arm A using semi-annual ultrasound and AFP-based screening or Arm B using semi-annual screening using GALAD alone. Randomization will be stratified by sex, enrolling site, Child Pugh class (A vs. B), and HCC etiology (viral vs. non-viral). Patients will be recruited from 15 sites (mix of tertiary care and large community health systems) over a 3-year period, and the primary endpoint of the phase IV trial, reduction in late-stage HCC, will be assessed after 5.5 years. This study, ELU- FRα-1, is focused on adult subjects who have advanced, recurrent or refractory folate receptor alpha (FRα) overexpressing tumors considered to be topoisomerase 1 inhibitor-sensitive based on scientific literature, and, in the opinion of the Investigator, have no other meaningful life-prolonging therapy options available. ELU001 is a new chemical entity described as a C'Dot drug conjugate (CDC), consisting of payloads (exatecans) and targeting moieties (folic acid analogs) covalently bound by linkers to the C'Dot particle carrier. This research is for patients who have gastrointestinal cancer and have a planned major surgery. The purpose of this research is to identify cancer patients who may be at risk for frailty. Frailty is common in older adults and may include symptoms of weight loss, weakness, fatigue, low activity, slow walking and other illnesses. Frailty may increase the risk of problems after major surgery. The study will involve a survey, a blood sample, and a review of medical records. Read Less

This phase II/III trial studies if contrast-enhanced ultrasounds using a contrast dye, perflutren lipid microspheres (Definity), can predict the response to chemotherapy by estimating the pressure in the cancer in patients with breast cancer that has spread to nearby tissues and lymph nodes (locally advanced). The efficacy of cancer therapy is affected by the pressure in the cancer. Definity is a contrast dye used to create better images during ultrasounds. The purpose of this trial is to determine if a special kind of ultrasound, called contrast-enhanced ultrasound, an experimental imaging test, can detect pressures in cancer to determine the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer.
