This is a Phase 1/2a randomized, double-blind, two-part, dose-ascending, multicenter study of AR-501 (gallium citrate) solution, administered via inhalation, in healthy adult and P. aeruginosa infected cystic fibrosis (CF) subjects. Phase 1 of the study in HV subjects will consist of a single-ascending-dose (SAD) cohort, followed by the HV multiple-ascending-dose (MAD) cohort. Phase 2a of the study in CF subjects will consist of a MAD study design. The study will evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of single and repeat administrations of inhaled AR-501 solution in healthy adults, and the safety, PK and efficacy of repeat administrations of inhaled AR-501 solution in P. aeruginosa infected CF subjects. This study evaluates KRT-232, a novel oral small molecule inhibitor of MDM2, for the treatment of patients with Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC) who have failed treatment with at least one anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1 immunotherapy or in combination with avelumab in MCC patients who are anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1 treatment naïve. Adults attempting weight loss through lifestyle modification (LM) typically find maintenance of behavior change difficult. Outcomes might be improved if participants are provided with sustained sources of accountability and support and ongoing opportunities to reflect with others on goal progress. This study proposes that sharing digital data with other parties has the potential to improve long-term weight loss. The proposed study will enroll adults ("index participants") (N = 320) with overweight/obesity in a 24-month LM program and instruct them to use digital tools for self-monitoring of weight, physical activity, and eating on a daily basis. This is a phase 1, open label, dose-escalation, safety, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic study to determine the maximum tolerated doses (MTD) or recommended phase 2 doses (RP2D) of both ALA and RT. Once the MTDs are identified, the cohort providing the highest dose intensity at or below the MTD (if supported by emerging PK and biomarker data) will be selected for an expansion phase for the purpose of refining the safety assessment and assessing preliminary efficacy. The initial dose escalation phase will enroll at least 20 patients across a variety of tumor types, after which concurrent disease site-specific expansion cohorts will accrue, each consisting of 20 patients. The purpose of this study is to enhance the care of older metastatic gastric cancer (mGC) patients by increasing awareness among oncology providers of the unique aspects of care required for older patients. The goal of the study is to educate providers on the utility of geriatric assessment in guiding therapy of older mGC patients. The goal of this clinical trial is to validate a wearable seizure monitoring device, EpiCare@Home, as an objective seizure monitoring tool for people with focal onset epileptic seizures. The device continuously records brain, cardiorespiratory, and physical activity data. The study aims to 1) collect benchmark data for seizure detection algorithm development and validation, and 2) evaluate the performance of the device in clinical and at home workflows. Participants will wear the device during a routine Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) admission. Additionally, they can continue wearing the device at home after the EMU admission. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the device performance and monitor the safety and effectiveness of the Berlin Heart EXCOR Active Driving System while being used with the approved EXCOR Pediatric Ventricular Assist Device. EXCOR Active Driving System is intended for use with the approved EXCOR Pediatric VAD. The EXCOR Pediatric VAD is intended to provide mechanical circulatory support as a bridge to cardiac transplantation for pediatric patients. Pediatric candidates with severe isolated left ventricular or biventricular dysfunction who are candidates for cardiac transplant and require circulatory support may be treated using the EXCOR Pediatric. EXCOR Active is intended for use in a clinical setting. EXCOR Active can be used in any kind of hospital unit (e.g. OR, ICU, intermediate care unit or general care unit). The driving unit may be moved between clinical units using the caddy or baby buggy; however, a patient must always be accompanied by a person trained in the use of the manual pump and emergency procedures during transport in the event of an emergency. The Single Large-Scale mtDNA Deletion Sydrome: Natural History Study (PS-NHS) aims to collect data on standardized clinical outcomes, store data on the Champ Foundation Registry (CFR) and make this data available to researchers, clinicians, and industry partners who are studying SLSMDS to answer questions regarding the disease, including its causes, potential treatments, and other topics. This study involves sample collection to identify biomarkers relating to Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) in the saliva of children who are between the ages of 18 months to 6 years and 11 months. Participants will at each timepoint have a non-invasive saliva swab collected and complete a brief demographic and medical history questionnaire as well. Children in the pediatric/provider setting who will receive a referral for an ASD diagnosis because they were determined to have a suspicion of developing ASD will be enrolled in the study. Children will also be enrolled in the specialist evaluation setting where they will receive a DSM-5 diagnosis. A subset of both enrollment cohorts will also be followed up with at a third time point in which their diagnosis will be confirmed, and information about any ongoing treatment will be gathered. Currently there is no study investigating best skin cleaning patterns prior to cesarean deliveries. As a result, doctors perform skin preparation using random unstudied techniques. Techniques vary from Hospital to Hospital and even within the same institution. The most widely used topical skin preparation is ChloraPrep and the manufacturer has not recommended a specific pattern to be used in order to abdominally prep prior to C-sections. In addition most studies do not examine the effectiveness in the obese population. The manufacture has established a recommended dosage area of 13in x13in per ChloraPrep stick as well as timing from initial preparation until the practice reached its maximum antiseptic benefit. Our current cesarean infection rate is very low, at just 1.6% over the last 12 months (September 2107-2018). This is significantly lower than the average cesarean section infection rate in the United States which is around 7.4% using iodine based preparations. Cesarean deliveries are one of the most common major surgeries performed in the United States, 31.9% of all births are by cesarean section. The risk of infection following a cesarean delivery is nearly 5 times that of a vaginal delivery. However, there is still no study that examines the pattern which ChloraPrep is applied to the abdomen prior to a cesarean delivery in patients with a BMI greater than 30. The pattern of skin preparation appears to be heavily related to physician training and personal bias. Read Less

The objective of this prospective, multi-centre study is to evaluate the performance of ADXBLADDER, a urine MCM5 ELISA test, as an aid in the detection of bladder cancer recurrence. Patients undergoing cystoscopic surveillance in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) follow-up will be recruited and asked to provide a urine sample to be tested with ADXBLADDER. To assess the diagnostic accuracy of the test, the MCM5 results will be compared with the gold standard cystoscopy and pathology of resected tissue. Read Less
