This clinical trial evaluates how well two surgical procedures (bilateral salpingectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy) work in reducing the risk of ovarian cancer for individuals with BRCA1 mutations. Bilateral salpingectomy involves the surgical removal of fallopian tubes, and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy involves the surgical removal of both the fallopian tubes and ovaries. This study may help doctors determine if the two surgical procedures are nearly the same for ovarian cancer risk reduction for women with BRCA1 mutations. Read Less

CIDP is an autoimmune disease. This means that the body's germ fighting (immune) system attacks itself. In CIDP, the immune system attacks the protective covering around the nerves called myelin. Over time, these nerves lose their ability to send signals to the muscles in the body. This leads to muscle weakness and loss of sensation in arms and legs among other symptoms. Participants with CIDP can be treated with a protein called immunoglobulin (or IG). TAK-411 is a special type of immune globulin G (hsIgG) that has been chemically changed. It is made from IG that comes from human plasma. This study will test if TAK-411 can decrease inflammation and improve symptoms of CIDP. The main aim of this study is to check how TAK-411 affects the physical functioning of adults with CIDP when compared with results of the placebo group of a historical trial. Participants may be treated with TAK-411 for up to 1 year (51 weeks) and will be followed up for 3 weeks after last dose. The research study is being conducted in health controls to better understand the effects of ketosis on brain functioning after 3 different, randomly assigned, 3-day dietary interventions and the acute effects of alcohol after consuming about 4-5 alcohol beverages. The labs visits will use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans to study the brain, measuring levels of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), lactate, neurotransmitters glutamate, and Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). Demographic information will be collected on all anesthetics. An analysis of each adverse event will be performed and entered into the database. This trial studies how well iohexol works in helping doctors calculate the dose of carboplatin given to patients with cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Understanding how to best calculate the dose of carboplatin given to patients with cancer may help doctors learn how to improve the use of carboplatin in the future. Read Less

Open label study to determine tolerability and efficacy of letermovir for CMV prophylaxis in heart and lung transplant recipients. The study hypotheses are: 1. Letermovir prophylaxis will be associated with similar rates of CMV infection as valganciclovir among heart and lung transplant recipients 2. Letermovir will be better tolerated than valganciclovir for CMV prophylaxis in heart and lung transplant recipients, with a higher proportion of days of completed therapy with correct dosing during the planned prophylaxis period 3. Letermovir will have a lower rate of neutropenia than valganciclovir when used for CMV prophylaxis in heart and lung transplant recipients 4. Incorrect renal dosing will occur less frequently with letermovir than with valganciclovir when used for CMV prophylaxis in heart and lung transplant recipients Read Less

This phase III trial compares the effect of olaparib for one year versus two years, with or without bevacizumab, for the treatment of BRCA 1/2 mutated or homologous recombination deficient stage III or IV ovarian cancer. Olaparib is a polyadenosine 5'-diphosphoribose polymerase (PARP) enzyme inhibitor and may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Bevacizumab is in a class of medications called antiangiogenic agents. It works by stopping the formation of blood vessels that bring oxygen and nutrients to tumor. This may slow the growth and spread of tumor. Giving olaparib for one year with or without bevacizumab may be effective in treating patients with BRCA 1/2 mutated or homologous recombination deficient stage III or IV ovarian cancer, when compared to two years of olaparib. This randomized clinical trial studies how well high volume washing of the abdomen works in increasing survival after surgery in patients with pancreatic cancer that can be removed by surgery. High volume washings may remove free floating cancers present after surgery and help prolong survival in patients with pancreatic cancer. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if an educational video and workbook can help gynecologic cancer patients talk to their cancer providers about sexual health concerns. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Do gynecologic cancer patients who take part in the educational program and get a resource booklet talk to their cancer clinicians more about sexual health concerns than patients who get a resource booklet alone? 2. Do gynecologic cancer patients who take part in the educational program and get a resource booklet have better sexual function and less anxiety and depression than patients who get a resource booklet alone? Researchers will compare those who get the educational program and the resource booklet to those who get the resource booklet alone. Participants will: 1. Fill out a consent form and survey 2. This clinical trial evaluates satisfaction and engagement with a text messaging platform (TXT-Chatbot) compared to a patient portal system (MyChart/Patient Portal) for reporting symptoms among patients with multiple myeloma (MM). Multiple myeloma is the third most common hematologic (relating to the blood and blood-forming organs) cancer. Patients with MM typically receive continuous therapy from the time of diagnosis, which often comes with treatment-related toxicities. Symptom burden and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) for those with MM can be quite poor. Effects of MM and its treatment may impact HRQOL domains such as physical and emotional well-being, social functioning, and financial burden. Assessment of toxicities through patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures is critical and can generate information to help facilitate clinical decision making and follow up care. PROs are direct reports from patients about their health status. Compared with paper versions, electronic PROs (ePRO) allow patients to report their symptoms in real time outside of their clinic visit, facilitate direct data collection through the electronic health record, and enable clinicians to track symptoms long-term. The use of ePROs is associated with improved patient health outcomes, including better quality of life, reduced emergency department usage, and prolonged overall survival. The increased use of electronic communication technologies to capture PRO data long-term has been implemented through various methods including web-based, social media, text messages, mobile applications, and electronic portals. Text messaging is an accessible, though under-explored, communication channel for promoting ePRO collection. Information gathered from this study may help researchers understand MM patients' preferences for reporting symptoms via text message compared to a patient portal system. Read Less

This phase II trial studies the neurological function in patients with multiple brain metastases undergoing stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) or stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). Stereotactic body radiation therapy uses special equipment to position a patient and deliver radiation to tumors with high precision. This method can kill tumor cells with fewer doses over a shorter period and cause less damage to normal tissue. Assessment of neurocognitive function may help show that SRS preserves neurological function in patients with multiple brain metastases better than SBRT. Read Less
