The state of Texas currently has 224 active clinical trials seeking participants for Lung Cancer research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin.
Surgery Versus Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy for Stage I Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Recruiting
The development of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for the treatment of stage I non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has inspired a close partnership between thoracic surgery and radiation oncology. In this study, patients with stage I NSCLC will be screened prior to treatment and will be consented after their treatment plan has been determined. Prospectively collected patient-reported outcomes (PROs) will be collected for 3 years, as will outcomes data.

Safety and Efficacy of Intravenous Cemiplimab Plus BNT116 Versus Cemiplimab Alone in Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer in Adult Participants With PD-L1 ≥ 50%
Recruiting
The study is researching an investigational drug, called BNT116, in combination with cemiplimab. BNT116 and cemiplimab will each be called a "study drug", and together be called "study drugs" in this form. The study is focused on patients who have advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The aims of the study are to see how safe and tolerable BNT116 is in combination with cemiplimab and to see how effective BNT116 in combination with cemiplimab is compared to cemiplimab by itself at treatin... A First-in-human Study to Learn How Safe the Study Treatment BAY2862789 is, to Find the Best Dose, How it Affects the Body, What Maximum Amount Can be Given, How it Moves Into, Through and Out of the Body, and How it Acts on Different Tumors in Participants With Advanced Solid Tumors
Recruiting
Researchers are looking for a better way to treat people who have advanced solid tumors including a specific kind of lung cancer (non-small cell lung cancer, NSCLC). Advanced solid tumors are types of cancer that have spread to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, and/or to distant parts of the body and that are unlikely to be cured or controlled with currently available treatments. BAY2862789 works by blocking an enzyme in T-cells, thereby activating them. T-cells are a type of immune cell that are kn... Read More

Genetic Testing in Screening Patients With Stage IB-IIIA Non-small Cell Lung Cancer That Has Been or Will Be Removed by Surgery (The ALCHEMIST Screening Trial)
Recruiting
This ALCHEMIST trial studies genetic testing in screening patients with stage IB-IIIA non-small cell lung cancer that has been or will be removed by surgery. Studying the genes in a patient's tumor cells may help doctors select the best treatment for patients that have certain genetic changes.

Quaratusugene Ozeplasmid (Reqorsa) and Atezolizumab Maintenance Therapy in ES-SCLC Patients
Recruiting
This clinical trial will evaluate the combination of quaratusugene ozeplasmid with atezolizumab as maintenance therapy for patients with Extensive Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer (ES-SCLC). The study will be conducted in 2 phases, a dose selection phase (Phase 1) and a safety and efficacy evaluation phase (Phase 2).

Sacituzumab Tirumotecan (MK-2870) in Combination With Pembrolizumab Versus Pembrolizumab Alone in Metastatic Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) With Programmed Cell Death Ligand 1 (PD-L1) Tumor Proportion Score (TPS) ≥ 50% (MK-2870-007)
Recruiting
The primary objective of the study is to compare sacituzumab tirumotecan combined with pembrolizumab to pembrolizumab alone with respect to overall survival (OS). The primary hypothesis is that the combination of sacituzumab tirumotecan and pembrolizumab is superior to pembrolizumab alone with respect to OS. All participants who have completed the first course of pembrolizumab may be eligible for up to an additional 9 cycles of pembrolizumab monotherapy if there is blinded independent central r... Osimertinib With or Without Bevacizumab as Initial Treatment for Patients With EGFR-Mutant Lung Cancer
Recruiting
This phase III trial compares the effect of bevacizumab and osimertinib combination vs. osimertinib alone for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer that has spread outside of the lungs (stage IIIB-IV) and has a change (mutation) in a gene called EGFR. The EGFR protein is involved in cell signaling pathways that control cell division and survival. Sometimes, mutations in the EGFR gene cause EGFR proteins to be made in higher than normal amounts on some types of cancer cells. This causes can... Read More

Testing the Addition of a Type of Drug Called Immunotherapy to the Usual Chemotherapy Treatment for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, ALCHEMIST Trial
Recruiting
This phase III ALCHEMIST trial tests the addition of pembrolizumab to usual chemotherapy for the treatment of stage IIA, IIB, IIIA or IIIB non-small cell lung cancer that has been removed by surgery. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy drugs, such as cisplatin, pemetrexed, carboplatin, gemcitabine hydrochloride, and paclitaxel, work... Read More

Brentuximab Vedotin With Pembrolizumab in Metastatic Solid Tumors
Recruiting
This trial will find out whether brentuximab vedotin and pembrolizumab work together to treat different types of cancer. There will be several different types of cancer studied in the trial. The cancer must have spread to other parts of the body (metastatic). The study will also find out what side effects occur. A side effect is anything the treatment does besides treat cancer. This is a multi-cohort study.

Recruiting
This phase II/III trial compares the addition of radiation therapy to the usual treatment (immunotherapy with or without chemotherapy) versus (vs.) usual treatment alone in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced) or that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic) whose tumor is also negative for a molecular marker ca...
