The purpose of this clinical trial was to determine whether combining iniparib (BSI-201) with standard chemotherapy in estrogen receptor (ER)-negative, progesterone receptor (PR)-negative, and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative metastatic breast cancer patients improve clinical benefit compared to treatment with standard chemotherapy alone. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Peripheral stem cell or bone marrow transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy or radiation therapy. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of combination chemotherapy when given before stem cell transplant and radiation therapy in treating patients with neuroblastoma that has not responded to previous treatments. The study will enroll approximately 33 EGFr positive chemotherapy-naive stage IV non-small cell lung cancer patients. Patients will receive cetuximab in combination with carboplatin and paclitaxel for two cycles or until disease progression or until the patient exhibits intolerable toxicities. Eligible patients will be randomized in a ratio of 2:1 to receive either chemotherapy (a taxane and a platinum compound) plus CPG 7909 Injection or chemotherapy alone. Protocol therapy will be administered until disease progression or intolerable toxicity. CpG 7909 Injection will be administered subcutaneously, on Weeks 2 and 3 of each three-week cycle (days 8 and 15) and chemotherapy will be administered on Week 1 (Day 1).
