The purpose of this study is to make a preliminary assessment of the efficacy of a combined APR-246 and carboplatin/PLD chemotherapy regimen, compared with carboplatin/PLD chemotherapy regimen alone, in patients with platinum sensitive recurrent high grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) with mutated p53. In addition, the study aims to assess the safety profile of the combined APR-246 and carboplatin/PLD chemotherapy regimen compared with carboplatin/PLD chemotherapy regimen alone, to evaluate potential biomarkers, and to assess the biological activity in tumor and surrogate tissues. This randomized phase II trial studies how well transoral surgery followed by low-dose or standard-dose radiation therapy works in treating patients with human papilloma virus (HPV) positive stage III-IVA oropharyngeal cancer. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery. It is not yet known how much extra treatment needs to be given after surgery. Read Less

Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as pemetrexed, cisplatin, and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading.
