Standard Infusion Carboplatin Versus Prophylactic Extended Infusion Carboplatin in Patients With Patients With Recurrent, Ovary, Fallopian Tube, and Primary Peritoneal Cancer
Completed
Patients who have this kind of cancer are often treated with several drugs. Carboplatin is one that seems to work for many treatment cycles. Even though it may work against the cancer, the patient can become allergic to it. If that happens, they would have to stop taking the drug. The standard way to give carboplatin is by vein over 30 minutes. Some people have been given carboplatin over 3 hours rather than 30 minutes and had fewer allergies than expected.
The purpose of this study is to:

Completed
This is an open-label, single institution, phase II study of Sorafenib in combination with docetaxel and carboplatin in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Docetaxel and carboplatin will be given on day 1 of every three week cycle. Patients will take Sorafenib twice a day on the 1st day of treatment and continue to take the medication every day until progression of disease, prohibitive toxicity, or patient withdrawal from the study. A Study in Head and Neck Cancer
Completed
This study will begin with a 30 participant lead-in part: these 30 participants will receive cetuximab manufactured by ImClone on a weekly basis in combination with other chemotherapy drugs \[cisplatin or carboplatin plus 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)\] administered every 3 weeks. After 18 weeks, participants who benefit from this treatment may continue to receive cetuximab once-weekly until progression of the disease, an unacceptable side effect occurs, participants withdraw consent, or the study is cl... Completed
The primary purpose of this study is to help answer the following research question(s):
* To see how the body absorbs, processes, and gets rid of cetuximab when the drug is taken in combination with carboplatin \[pharmacokinetic (PK) analysis\]
* To see if any drug interactions occur between cetuximab and carboplatin.

Paclitaxel, Carboplatin, and Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients Who Are Undergoing Surgery for Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Completed
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Giving paclitaxel and carboplatin together with radiation therapy before surgery may shrink the tumor so that it can be removed. Giving chemotherapy after surgery may kill any tumor cells remaining after surgery.
PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving pac... Read More

Completed
The purpose of this study is to determine if participants with Stage IV NSCLC have a better outcome when treated with IMC-1121B in combination with pemetrexed + carboplatin/cisplatin or gemcitabine + carboplatin/cisplatin than when treated with pemetrexed + carboplatin/cisplatin or gemcitabine + carboplatin/cisplatin alone.

R-ICE Versus R-DHAP in Patients Aged 18-65 With Relapse Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma
Completed
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of induction therapy R-ICE in comparison to R-DHAP after 3 cycles adjusted to successful mobilization of stem cells in patients with previously treated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma CD20.
The goal is to detect a difference in mobilization adjusted response rate of 15% between R-ICE and R-DHAP.

Evaluation of Cetuximab (ERBITUX) and Concurrent Carboplatin, Paclitaxel & Radiotherapy in the Management of Patients With Advanced Locoregional Squamous Cell Carcinomas of the Head and Neck (GCC 0442)
Completed
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the response of the tumor to the treatment regimen that will be used in this study. This study will also test the safety of cetuximab (C225), given with chemotherapy and radiation therapy. We also want to see what effects (good and bad) cetuximab, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy have head \& neck cancer.
C225 has been designed to stop the growth of the tumor by blocking certain chemical pathways that lead to tumor cell growth. In prior studies with h... Read More

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of intraperitoneal bortezomib when given together with intraperitoneal carboplatin in treating patients with ovarian epithelial cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer that is persistent or has come back. Bortezomib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
