A Double-blind Study to Assess the Efficacy and Safety of Intranasal Esketamine for the Rapid Reduction of the Symptoms of Major Depressive Disorder, Including Suicidal Ideation, in Participants Who Are Assessed to be at Imminent Risk for Suicide
Completed
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of intranasal esketamine 84 milligram (mg) compared with intranasal placebo along with standard care treatment, in reducing the symptoms of major depressive disorder (MDD) (an affective disorder manifested by either a dysphoric mood or loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities, the mood disturbance is prominent and relatively persistent), including the risk for suicide as assessed by the Investigator, in participants who will be assess... Magnesium and Cramping
Recruiting
Hysteroscopy (an exam to look inside the uterus) is one of the most frequently performed procedures for patients with cervical or uterine disorders. It is the gold standard for evaluating various intrauterine problems, pre-menopausal and post-menopausal abnormal uterine bleeding, as well as being a vital examination modality for infertility work-up. Although hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure, it is still known to be a painful experience that requires effective analgesia (meaning pai... Read More

A Study of Esketamine Nasal Spray, Administered as Monotherapy, in Adult Participants With Treatment-resistant Depression
Completed
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of each individual dose of esketamine nasal spray, 56 milligram (mg) and 84 mg, compared with placebo nasal spray in improving depressive symptoms in participants with treatment resistant depression (TRD), as assessed by the change from baseline in the Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) total score from Day 1 (prerandomization) to the end of the 4 week double-blind treatment phase (Day 28).

Ketamine Vs Lidocaine in Traumatic Rib Fractures
Recruiting
Rib fractures continue to be a common occurrence in trauma patients of all ages. Traumatic rib fractures can cause severe pain in patients and lead to shallow breathing and further complications such as the need for mechanical ventilation, hospital or ventilator associated pneumonia, atelectasis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Effective multimodal pain management is needed to optimize a patient's respiratory status and can also play a role in early mobility, less pulmonary complication... Read More

Study of Immunomodulation Using Naltrexone and Ketamine for COVID-19
Terminated
Ideal new treatments for Novel Coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) would help halt the progression disease in patients with mild disease prior to the need for artificial respiration (ventilators), and also provide a rescue treatment for patients with severe disease, while also being affordable and available in quantities sufficient to treat large numbers of infected people. Low doses of Naltrexone, a drug approved for treating alcoholism and opiate addiction, as well as Ketamine, a drug approved as an ane... Read More

IN Ketamine vs IN Midazolam and Fentanyl for Laceration Repair
Terminated
Often, repair of the cuts (laceration repair) proves to be traumatic for the children and the parents. Nasal spray (Intranasal/IN) approaches for procedural pain reduction, such as during dental work, have been demonstrated to make drug administration painless and well tolerated. We are comparing IN ketamine to IN midazolam and fentanyl for pain and reducing anxiety during repair of cuts in children.

Ketamine Infusion for Comorbid PTSD and Chronic Pain
Completed
The purpose of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of low dose IV ketamine infusion in the treatment of patients with PTSD and comorbid chronic pain. Hypothesis: A single ketamine infusion should be associated with significantly greater reduction in core PTSD symptom levels after the treatment and such an effect is not only due to its analgesic properties but also through unknown mechanism of action that maybe related to NMDA/AMPA receptor modulation.
