A Research Study Comparing How Well Different Doses of the Medicine NNC0519-0130 Can Reduce Kidney Damage in People Living With Chronic Kidney Disease
Recruiting
The study evaluates the safety of different doses of a new medicine called NNC0519 0130. It also looks into how the medicine may improve kidney function in participants with chronic kidney disease with or without type 2 diabetes, living with overweight or obesity. The participants will either get NNC0519-0130 (a new medicine), semaglutide (a medicine that doctors can already prescribe), or placebo (a "dummy" substance). Which treatment the participant will get is decided by chance. The study wil... Read More

STEP TEENS Weight Maintenance: A Research Study on How Well Semaglutide Helps Teenagers With Excess Body Weight to Lose Weight and Maintain Weight Loss
Recruiting
The study is testing how well semaglutide can help adolescents with excess body weight to lose weight and to maintain weight loss. All participants in the study will receive semaglutide as a weekly injection. The study medicine is injected with a thin needle in the stomach, thighs or upper arms. All participants will get semaglutide treatment for a minimum of 3 years.

A Research Study to Investigate the Effects of CagriSema Compared to Placebo in People With Type 2 Diabetes and Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
Recruiting
This study will look at the effects of CagriSema in people with both type 2 diabetes and painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy, compared to placebo. Participants will either get an active medicine or a "dummy" medicine (placebo). Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. In this study the active, investigational medicine is called CagriSema. Doctors cannot yet prescribe CagriSema. For each participant, the study will last for about 10 months.

A Research Study to Look Into the Long-term Effect on Weight Loss of CagriSema in People With Obesity
Recruiting
This study will look at how well CagriSema helps people with obesity lose weight compared to a "dummy medicine". CagriSema is a new medicine developed by Novo Nordisk. CagriSema cannot yet be prescribed by doctors. The study has two parts: First part is called the main phase and will last for 2 years, and second part is called the extension phase and will last for 1 year. In the main phase participants will either get CagriSema or "dummy medicine". Which treatment participants get is decided by... Read More

A Research Study to Look at How Well CagriSema Helps People Living With Obesity Lose Weight and Maintain Weight Loss in the Long-term
Recruiting
This study will look at how well CagriSema helps people living with obesity to lose weight and maintain the weight loss long-term. The study has 2 parts: The first part is called 'the main study' and the second part is called 'the extension study'. In the main study participants will either get CagriSema (a study medicine) or placebo (a dummy medicine that looks like CagriSema but has no active ingredient). Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. Participants are two times more li... Read More

Sit Less, Interact and Move More (SLIMM) 2 Study
Recruiting
* Prolonged sitting (sedentary behavior) is a risk factor for decreased kidney function, obesity, diabetes and mortality. Prolonged sitting is associated with decreased kidney function and increased risk of diabetes, heart disease and death. * In a previous pilot study funded by NIH, it was shown that a Sit Less, Interact and Move More (SLIMM) intervention targeting sedentary behavior in people with kidney disease was able to decrease prolonged sitting but that effect was not sustained. * Theref... Brown Adipose Tissue Activity in Response to Semaglutide Administered to Obese Subjects.
Recruiting
Glucagon like peptide (GLP-1) agonists, such as liraglutide, exenatide, and semaglutide, have been increasingly used as a medication to address the current twin epidemics of diabetes and obesity. Their activities include increasing insulin production by pancreatic beta cells, improving insulin sensitivity in muscles and weight loss. The mechanisms underpinning the weight loss caused by GLP-1 agonists have not yet been fully elucidated, but brown adipose tissue (BAT) appears to play an important... Read More

Mechanisms of Semaglutide Therapy in Heart Failure Patients
Recruiting
Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, primarily used for treatment of type-2 diabetes mellitus. GLP-1 receptors are present on pancreatic islet β-cells, δ-cells and α-cells. Their stimulation increases insulin and somatostatin secretion, and decreases glucagon secretion. In addition, GLP-1 receptor agonists appear to have multiple extrapancreatic actions, which remain poorly defined. In large clinical trials, semaglutide improved the outcomes in obese patients, patie... Read More

Semaglutide Treatment in the Real-world for Fibrosis Due to NAFLD in Obesity and T2DM
Recruiting
Conduct a community intervention study that will 1) validate a screening approach to identify patients at risk for advanced NAFLD in the obese or T2DM population, and 2) test whether semaglutide treatment is effective for the management of significant fibrosis due to NAFLD in high-risk patients.
