Assessing Cancer Treatment Response to Therapy Using 18F-FSPG PET
Recruiting
Prospective single centre non-randomised exploratory observational study to measure changes in tumour cellular redox status with 18F-FSPG PET in stage 3 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and stage 3 and 4 head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC) at baseline and during standard of care treatment, and to compare this with 18F-FDG PET/CT and RECIST 1.1 response at 12 weeks.

Renal Perfusion and the Development of AKI Following Traumatic Injury
Recruiting
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a complication of traumatic haemorrhagic shock (THS) and together these conditions increase mortality risk. Although septic shock patients who develop severe AKI are known to develop hypoperfusion of the renal cortex, little is known regarding intra-renal perfusion changes in THS. The aim of the current study is to investigate the effects of THS on renal microcirculatory perfusion.

Timing to Restart Direct Oral Anticoagulants After Traumatic Intracranial Haemorrhage
Recruiting
Older people falling from a standing height is the most common cause of hospital admission for head injury. Up to 1 in 3 patients admitted are taking a tablet medication which thins the blood, known as an oral anticoagulant. This type of medication can increase the likelihood of bleeding in the brain. Many patients are taking oral anticoagulation due to having an irregular heartbeat (called atrial fibrillation) or because of having a previous stroke or blood clots. When a scan shows blood in the... Read More

The Effect of Vasopressor Therapy on Renal Perfusion in Septic Shock
Recruiting
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication of septic shock and together these conditions carry a high mortality risk. In septic patients who develop severe AKI renal cortical perfusion is deficient despite normal macrovascular organ blood flow. This intra-renal perfusion abnormality may be amenable to pharmacological manipulation, which may offer mechanistic insight into the pathophysiology of septic AKI. The aim of the current study is to investigate the effects of vasopressin and angio... Read More

SCIB1 and iSCIB1+ in Melanoma Patients Receiving Nivolumab With Ipilimumab or SCIB1 With Pembrolizumab (The SCOPE Study)
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to find out if two new treatment cancer vaccines called SCIB1 and iSCIB1+ can be used safely when added to nivolumab (Opdivo) with ipilimumab (Yervoy), or SCIB1 with pembrolizumab (Keytruda). Pembrolizumab or nivolumab with ipilimumab are standard treatments approved for patients with advanced melanoma (skin cancer).
The study will also look to see if SCIB1 or iSCIB1+ can increase the likelihood that melanoma patients will respond to the standard treatments, and als... Read More
