Tamibarotene Plus Azacitidine in Participants With Newly Diagnosed RARA-positive Higher-Risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome
Recruiting
This study compares the efficacy of Tamibarotene in combination with azacitidine to azacitidine in combination with placebo in participants who are Retinoic Acid Receptor Alpha (RARA) positive, and newly diagnosed with higher-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (HR-MDS), and who have not received treatment for this diagnosis. The primary goal of the study is to compare the complete remission rate between the two treatment arms.

Therapeutic Strategies for Microvascular Dysfunction in Type 1 Diabetes
Recruiting
The investigators will test the hypothesis that, in adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D), glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonism (GLP-1RA, i.e. dulaglutide) and exercise training each enhance insulin-mediated skeletal muscle microvascular perfusion via attenuating endothelial oxidative stress and thereby improving endothelial function.

Connecting Friends and Health Workers to Boost COVID-19 Vaccination in Latino Communities
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to find out which approach works better in getting more of the friends and connections of Latino adults get vaccinated against COVID-19. The main questions this study aims to answer are: 1. Can teaching people to use motivational interviewing help more friends and connections of Latino adults get the COVID-19 vaccine compared to just giving information about the vaccine? 2. What are the things that make it easier or harder for Latinos and networks to get the... Read More

Ketamine for the Treatment of Depression in Parkinson's Disease
Recruiting
The main purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy and safety of a repeated dosing ketamine infusion paradigm compared to placebo in individuals with PD. A subset of participants in each arm will undergo baseline and post-treatment PET and fMRI scans, to examine whether changes in synaptic density and reorganization of functional networks underlie ketamine's putative antidepressant effects in PD.

Changes in Microbial Status From Dentate, Edentulous and After Dental Implant Placement
Recruiting
The objectives of this study are to analyze the oral microbiome modulations occurring during the transition from partial (with some residual teeth) to full edentulous (without remaining teeth) status and implant placement in subjects affected by severe periodontitis; to evaluate if microbiome changes in relation to the used of different implant material/surface; and to assess the variance of the changes to determine the sample size for future longitudinal prospective studies.
