A Telenovela Intervention for Caregivers of African-American and Hispanic Hospice Patients

This randomized clinical trial (RCT) intends to look at the preliminary efficacy of NOVELA (intervention group) in changing anxiety and self-efficacy compared to usual hospice care (control group). In the NOVELA intervention, hospice care will be enhanced with the telenovela videos for hospice family caregivers (HFCG) education during twice weekly hospice telehealth visits to prepare caregivers for proper use of hospice support and healthcare services.

The Effect of Vicia Faba Hydrolysate Supplementation on Muscle Strength Recovery
Recruiting
To investigate the effect of Vicia faba protein concentrate, a protein derived from Fava bean extract, on delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). Participants receive either 2.4g/day of PeptiStrong® supplement capsules or placebo capsules for 14 days until a strenuous exercise session. For the last 3 days, 2/3 of them stay on the same treatment and 1/3 of them switch from placebo to PeptiStrong®.

This is a prospective, single arm clinical study to evaluate fusion status and patient reported outcomes utilizing the Stryker Tritanium® C Anterior Cervical interbody device at one or two contiguous levels. Subjects that are recommended for surgical treatment of either a 1- or 2-level ACDF (Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion) between the levels of Cervical Spine 2 to Thoracic 1 (C2-T1) and diagnosed with degenerative disc disease will be screened for the study.

Transpyloric Stenting As a Predictor for G-POEM for Refractory Gastroparesis

This is a prospective sham study to investigate the role of transpyloric stenting with lumen apposing metal stent (LAMS) as a predictor for clinical response to gastric per-oral endoscopic pyloromyotomy (GPOEM) for refractory gastroparesis. The study hypothesizes that clinical improvement with transpyloric stenting in patients with refractory gastroparesis is a predictor of subsequent clinical success of GPOEM.
