Pembrolizumab and Hypofractionated Radiation Therapy for the Treatment of Mucosal Melanoma
Recruiting
This is an open-label, single center, one cohort, non-randomized, phase II study. The aim is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the combination of hypofractionated radiotherapy (HRT) and pembrolizumab on local tumor control in mucosal melanoma patients. Treatment effect will be compared with historical radiation therapy-alone control data.

Cannabidiol as a Treatment for PTSD and PTSD Comorbid With TBI
Recruiting
This will be a randomized placebo controlled study to test the efficacy of cannabidiol (CBD) as a treatment for symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Subjects, 120 in total, will be males and females with PTSD, half of which will have comorbid mild traumatic brain injury (TBI). There will be three study arms, each with 40 subjects: 1) Oral CBD 400 mg daily; 2) Oral CBD 800 mg daily, and 3) Placebo daily. Treatment duration will be 8 weeks. The primary outcome will be change in PTSD... Read More

Using Re-inforcement Learning to Automatically Adapt a Remote Therapy Intervention (RTI) for Reducing Adolescent Violence Involvement
Recruiting
This study will use a randomized control trial (RCT) design to administer two versions of a multisession remote behavioral intervention for youth seeking Emergency Department care for a violent injury with the goal to reduce their violence involvement and associated negative behaviors and consequences. The study examines two versions of the remote therapy intervention - a standard RTI (S-RTI) and an Artificial Intelligence RTI (AI-RTI). The application of a just-in-time adaptive strategy to addr... Neurobiological and Psychological Maintenance Mechanisms Associated With Anticipatory Reward in Bulimia Nervosa
Recruiting
The purpose of this investigation is to identify the potentially crucial role of anticipatory reward mechanisms maintaining bulimic behavior (i.e., binge eating and purging) in bulimia nervosa (BN). The research will investigate neural and psychological anticipatory processes in BN, both in the scanner and the natural environment.

DBT Skills Groups for Veterans at High Risk for Suicide Attempt
Recruiting
Veteran suicide death is a national crisis. Risk factors include emotion dysregulation, which occurs across mental health disorders. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based suicide intervention that targets emotion dysregulation but is resource-intensive and not widely available at VHA. A more efficient evidence-based DBT Skills Group (DBT-SG) is associated with reduced suicidal ideation and emotion dysregulation and likely more feasible to implement at VHA. This is a randomized... Geriatric Evaluation and Management with Survivorship Health Education (GEMS) for Older Survivors of Cancer
Recruiting
This phase III cluster randomized trial compares the effect of geriatric evaluation and management with survivorship health education (GEMS) to usual care on patient-reported physical function in older survivors of cancer. Survivorship care for older adults of cancer usually consists of getting advice from their doctor. This advice may include how to do their daily activities, so they are less tired or how to manage multiple diseases, or long-term side effects from treatment. GEMS may help impro... Read More

Diagnostic Performance Of Non-Endorectal Coil Multiparametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging Of Prostate With Flexible AIR Coil (DoNEMAC Study)
Recruiting
Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) of the prostate is an important tool for diagnosis of clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) in men with an elevated serum prostate specific antigen, which can decrease the rate of unnecessary biopsies and reduce the incidence of over-diagnosis of non-csPCa. Furthermore, there is evidence that MRI is more accurate in detecting high-grade (Gleason grade group ≄3) versus low grade cancers (Gleason grade group \<2) and therefore may serve as a useful adjunct to p... Impact of Dietary Phosphate Excess on Exercise Capacity and Visceral Adiposity
Recruiting
Studies in mice demonstrated that dietary phosphate (Pi) loading that mimic the level of US adult consumption leads to reduced spontaneous locomotor activity, exercise capacity, and reduced resting metabolic rate when in normal mice by impairing skeletal muscle mitochondrial function and fat oxidation. However, relevance of this findings in humans remains unknown.

The Use of Pecs Blocks in Combination With Exparel in Breast Reconstruction Surgery
Recruiting
This project intends to more thoroughly investigate the direct influence of Pecs blocks in the administration of Exparel, a non-opioid analgesic, in breast reconstruction surgery. The hypothesis is that this analgesic delivery method will significantly reduce negative outcomes such as post-operative pain, opioid use, and nausea while increasing positive outcomes such as post-operative physical activity.
