Montefiore will engage fathers in families at risk of substance misuse in the Bronx and neighboring communities. Families will be referred from Bronx and neighboring community-based child welfare systems, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment providers, and medical providers if identified at risk of substance use concerns and will be randomly assigned to receive services as usual as part of the comparison group, or to receive enhanced services as part of the program group. Enhanced services include: (1) Motivational Enhancement; (2) referral to Healthy, Empowered, Resilient, and Open (HERO) Dads fatherhood engagement program; (3) Contingency Management; and (4) Case Management. Many individuals who experience a stroke have problems with their balance. In part, these balance problems may be due to sensory issues. This study will test whether sensory augmentation has the potential to improve post-stroke balance. Sensory augmentation is a method by which non-invasive vibration is used to enhance the sensory information available to users, which may make it easier to feel where they are and prevent losses of balance. Working in partnership with Montefiore-Einstein's Department of Translational Psychiatry, the study team investigators have designed a prospective randomized clinical trial (2:1) study for 45 AIS patients (10-19 yrs.). This protocol includes a baseline assessment of mental health, pain, and function in AIS patients utilizing validated patient reported outcome measures. The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the impact of a home-delivered foods and kitchen skills program on health and nutrition in adults with high blood pressure and food insecurity. Researchers will compare Food Resources \& Kitchen Skills (FoRKS) and Enhanced Usual Care (EUC) to evaluate the effects on mean systolic blood pressure (SPB), HbA1c, food security and nutrition. This study is recruiting Veterans who currently smoke cigarettes and support persons who are nominated by the Veterans. The purpose of this study is to assist Veterans with smoking cessation by asking Veterans to choose a support person who will assist them with the quitting process, or who may assist them with the quitting process once the Veteran is ready to quit smoking sometime in the future. Study staff will assess how much or how little social support during the Veteran's quitting process is helpful to the Veteran.
