Continuous Glucose Monitoring and OGTT Screen for Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes in Cystic Fibrosis
Recruiting
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) related diabetes (CFRD) is a unique form of diabetes mellitus, different from type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. The diagnosis of CFRD is associated with a decline in pulmonary function, decreased nutritional status, and increased mortality. CFRD is extremely common in people with CF, occurring in approximately 40-50% of adults with CF. Impaired glucose tolerance or dysglycemia is also very common in CF. It is standard of care to screen for CFRD annually from the age of 10... Read More

Exosome-based Detection of Molecular Residual Disease in Stage II-III Colorectal Cancer
Recruiting
This study aims to establish an exosome-based liquid biopsy signature to detect molecular residual disease (MRD) in stage II-III colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. Identifying patients with MRD after surgery is crucial for selecting appropriate candidates for adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT), allowing for more personalized treatment approaches and potentially improving patient outcomes.

Impact of OnabotulinumtoxinA (BOTOX®) on Stress
Recruiting
The purpose of this prospective single-center, blinded\*, randomized, proof-of-concept study is to determine whether OnabotulinumtoxinA (BOTOX®) injections will change the level of stress perceived by generally healthy adult female participants. It is hypothesized that BOTOX® injections will be associated with decreases in perceived stress levels, measured by scores on the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) questionnaire. The primary outcome measure is a chronological decrease in PSS scores between an... Read More

The Influence of Race and MitoQ Supplementation on Skin Blood Flow in the Cold
Recruiting
Individuals who operate in cold weather are at risk of developing cold injuries, for example, frostbite. They also often experience a loss of hand function and joint mobility due to a decrease in skin temperature and blood flow. In addition, the risk of getting a cold injury is higher in the Black population compared to other racial and ethnic groups. Increases in oxidant compounds can cause the blood vessels in the skin to narrow and decrease skin temperature in the cold. However, it is unknow... Read More
