Skeletal Effects of Type 1 Diabetes on Low-Trauma Fracture Risk
Recruiting
Patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) have a higher risk of low-trauma (osteoporotic) fracture that is 7-12 times higher than non-diabetics. The bone density of people with Type 1 Diabetes is higher at the time of fracture than in non-diabetics. This suggests the presence of underlying bone tissue mechanical defects. The potential benefits to participants would be knowledge gained about their bone density and the results of laboratory tests. On a wider scale, there may be general benefit... Read More

Fidgeting and Attentional and Emotional Regulation in ADHD
Recruiting
This project will study how fidgeting relates to cognitive and emotional functioning in adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It will determine, in a laboratory setting, whether movement and access to a "fidget device" providing sensory and motor stimulation can improve cognitive and emotional regulation (including on physiological measures) in adult ADHD. The investigators will also acquire pilot data for machine learning analyses to be used in future, large scale studies... Read More

Asthma Symptom Perception Study
Recruiting
Asthma affects 8% of the United States population ages \>60 years and causes considerable harm: older adults are 4 times more likely to die from asthma and have twice the risk of hospitalization. The burden of asthma is notably greater among minoritized older adults. Research suggests that perception of expiratory airflow limitation may be a major determinant of asthma outcomes in older adults, and that older adults are substantially less aware of airway obstruction than younger adults. These ob... Read More

Trastuzumab Deruxtecan Alone or in Combination with Anastrozole for the Treatment of Early Stage HER2 Low, Hormone Receptor Positive Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This phase II trial investigates how well trastuzumab deruxtecan works alone or in combination with anastrozole in treating patients with HER2 low, hormone receptor positive breast cancer. Trastuzumab deruxtecan is a monoclonal antibody, called trastuzumab, linked to a chemotherapy drug called deruxtecan. Trastuzumab attaches to HER2 expressed at low levels on cancer cells in a targeted way and delivers deruxtecan to kill them. Anastrozole works by decreasing estrogen production and suppressing... Geriatric Lateral Compression 1 Pelvic Fractures
Recruiting
Lateral compression-1 (LC1) pelvic ring fragility fractures cause significant pain and morbidity. These fragility injuries are associated with prolonged immobility and long hospital stays. Currently there is no consensus on operative stabilization of LC1 pelvic fractures, nor are there evidence-based guidelines to aid in management of these injury types. Furthermore, there is variability in operative indications, improvement in pain and mobilization. The purpose of this study is to compare percu... Read More

Does a Periaqueductal Gray-vagus Nerve Interface Malfunction Explain the Nat hx With Its Numerous Co-morbidities?
Recruiting
Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a common and disabling disorder among adolescents. No epidemiologic data exist to support the often cited 0.5 to 2% prevalence. Case series suggest 3 to 5 times greater incidence in girls than boys. POTS is defined in children as daily chronic symptoms of orthostatic intolerance and a 40 bpm rise in heart rate in the first 10 minutes of a tilt study in the absence of orthostatic hypotension. POTS often develops after an acute event like an illness, infecti... Read More

Integrated Outpatient Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder and Severe Injection Related Infections
Recruiting
This study will assess the efficacy of an integrated outpatient treatment model for persons with opioid use disorder and injection related infections. The investigators hypothesize that outpatient antibiotic treatment coupled with comprehensive treatment for opioid use disorder will demonstrate a safe and effective way to manage patients. Results could improve the current protocols for the treatment of individuals with opioid use disorder and severe infections.

Low Dose Aspirin Alerts in High-Risk Pregnancies
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to assess the effect of an electronic health record (EHR) clinical decision support tool, also known as a best practice alert (BPA), on healthcare provider recommendations for low dose aspirin use in a high-risk pregnant patient population. The investigators hypothesize that the implementation of the EHR BPA tool will increase the healthcare provider's recommendation for low dose aspirin compared to current standard care.
