A Clinical Trial of Interventions to Support Family Surrogates of Critically Ill Patients
Recruiting
Hypotheses 1a and 1b: Compared to Supportive Conversation arm, the EMPOWER intervention will significantly decrease surrogate decision makers' symptoms of grief and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (primary outcomes); and H1b. experiential avoidance, depression, regrets, and increases in patients' value-concordant care (secondary outcomes) at T1-T4. Hypothesis 2. Qualitative data will provide insights not captured by quantitative data. Hypothesis 3. Reductions in experiential avoidance wi... Read More

Study of Belantamab Mafodotin With Carfilzomib, Pomalidomide, and Dexamethasone in Relapsed Multiple Myeloma
Recruiting
Doctors leading this study hope to learn if the combination of belantamab mafodotin, carfilzomib, pomalidomide, and dexamethasone is effective and safe when given to people who have multiple myeloma that has gotten worse and is not responding to standard drugs that are used for treating multiple myeloma, including chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy. Participation in this research will last about 6 -24 months, but it may be less or more depending on your response to treatment.

Perceptual Consequences of Cochlear Implant Electrode-neuron Interfaces
Recruiting
Despite the success of cochlear implants, devices surgically placed in the inner ears of patients with severe hearing loss, there remains substantial variability in the overall speech perception outcomes for the children and adults who receive them. The main goals of this project are: i) to improve our understanding of how cochlear implants affect the developing auditory system, ii) apply that knowledge to test new methods for programming children and adults, and iii) to study how long it takes... Efficacy of Ra-223 in PSMA PET Optimally Selected Patients
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies how well prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography (PET) scans (in combination with bone scans) work in selecting patients for Ra-223 radiation therapy that have castration-resistant prostate cancer that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to the bones (bone metastasis). Ra-223 is a type of therapy that emits radiation. Radiation gives off energy which can kill tumor cells and other cells that may support the tumor cells.... Read More

The Effects of an Acute Dose of a Betalain-rich Concentrate on Repeated-sprint Cycling Performance and Recovery.
Recruiting
Betalains have well-known antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Recent investigations examining the effects of a betalain-rich concentrate (BRC) on exercise and recovery performance show promise of BRC as an ergogenic aid. To date, no study has examined the effects of a single dose of a BRC on supramaximal performance and recovery. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the effects of an acute dose of BRC on repeated-sprint cycling performance and recovery.

Randomized Clinical Trial of Intranasal Injection of Platelet-Rich Plasma for Treatment of Parosmia
Recruiting
This randomized clinical trial will evaluate the benefit of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in the treatment of qualitative olfactory dysfunction (parosmia). PRP can be isolated from a patient's own blood and has been found in previous studies to have anti-inflammatory and pro-regenerative properties. It has been used across multiple specialties, such as Orthopedics, Facial Plastics, Dermatology, Neurology in injected form to treat a wide variety of tissues to encourage the body's inherent regenerati...
