The primary goal of this study is to collect short-term and long-term health outcomes of a robotic transhiatal esophagectomy procedure. Clinical (or health) outcomes measure the effect of the procedure on your overall health status. During this procedure, the surgeon will remove all or part of your esophagus. We want to identify patients who will have this procedure. We will look at data elements before, during, and after your procedure to understand the impact of this surgery on your post-operative clinical outcomes. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to determine if RRx-001, which is added on to the cisplatin and radiation treatment, reduces the incidence of severe oral mucositis in patients with head and neck cancers. All patients in this study will receive 7 weeks of standard of care radiation therapy given with the chemotherapy agent, cisplatin. The goal of this clinical trial is to test the anti-tumor activity of bortezomib in participants with Metastatic Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC) with PTEN Deletion. The main question\[s\] it aims to answer is if the use of bortezomib will result in a decline in PSA for participants. This study will evaluate the effects of a parenting intervention for Hispanic sexual minority youth in preventing/reducing drug use and depressive symptoms. It will also examine whether the intervention improves parent social support for the adolescent, parent acceptance, family functioning, and whether it reduces general stress and stress associated with being a Hispanic sexual minority. Nearly 60-85% of Veterans with amputations experience pain at the location of the amputated limb called phantom limb pain (PLP). PLP is a major problem and can have a profound impact on Veteran's daily function and ability to fully participate in life. Although several rehabilitation interventions are promising, advances in novel rehabilitation interventions are limited. The objective of this project is to refine a mobile app for graded motor imagery in 12 Veterans with amputations and test the mobile app with 36 Veterans with amputations. For this pilot project, the investigators will measure the preliminary feasibility and acceptability of the intervention. Knowledge from this project will provide evidence to guide future larger studies of this graded motor imagery intervention. Developing novel strategies for chronic pain in this population will positively impact quality of life for Veterans with amputations. Read Less

The goal of this interventional treatment study is to assess the anxiolytic effect of providing guided meditation during radiation treatment (RT) in patients with brain tumors. The main question it aims to answer is: • What is the change in acute anxiety in participants receiving the mindfulness intervention during radiation therapy compared to standard of care control conditions? Participants will be asked to participate in a 5-minute, audio-recorded mindfulness practice that will be played during the administration of each RT session. This clinical trial aims to assess the efficacy of inspiratory muscle strength training (IMST) guided by a smartphone app vs. IMST delivered in a clinical research setting for lowering systolic blood pressure in adults 18 years and older with elevated blood pressure. The goal of this clinical trial is to explore how working a 4-day schedule impacts nurse manager wellbeing and job performance. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Do those working 4-days have improved wellbeing with reduced levels of burnout and work/family conflict when compared to those in the control group? * Do levels of sleep, heart rate variability, and physical activity significantly differ between those working the 4-day schedule change and those in the control group? * Are nurse manager satisfaction, patient satisfaction, and patient quality outcomes different among those working the 4-day schedule change and those in the control group? Researchers will compare those working the 4-day schedule change to those working the standard 5-day schedule to determine causality between the intervention and the outcomes. Participants will: * Complete an initial visit to learn about the study. * Begin wearing an OURA ring, which will collect data on physical activity, sleep, and heart rate variability. They will need to download the Oura Ring app on their phone and log in weekly to sync data so that the researchers may access it. * Complete the first survey on the online REDCap platform (baseline). * Begin the work schedule that was assigned to them. * Clock in and out of work each shift. * Take the follow-up survey online (month 3). * Take the final survey online (month 6).
