Care Choreographies and the Making of the Psychosocial in Genetic Counseling
Recruiting
Background: Genetic counselors play a new and evolving role in medical care. Recent advances in genetic testing are changing many health care treatments, and genetic counselors play a key role in teaching people how their genes may affect both health and treatments. Genetic counselors may also help guide people through complex talks about their treatment risks; their chances for recovery; and their social and emotional health and wellbeing. Researchers want to learn more about the role genetic... Read More

A Clinical Study of Pembrolizumab (+) Berahyaluronidase Alfa (MK-3475A) to Treat Newly-diagnosed Metastatic Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (MK-3475A-F84)
Recruiting
Researchers are looking for new ways to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that is metastatic, which means cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Some people with metastatic NSCLC are treated with pembrolizumab, an immunotherapy treatment that is given into a vein as an intravenous (IV) infusion. Pembrolizumab (+) Berahyaluronidase alfa is pembrolizumab that is given under the skin as a subcutaneous (SC) injection. The goal of this study is to compare what happens to pembrolizumab... Recruiting
The main goals are after treatment given before surgery, to measure the number of people who have no signs of cancer cells in tumors and lymph nodes removed during surgery; and to learn about whether the cancer gets smaller or goes away by measuring the number of people with a certain number of living cancer cells in the tumor removed during surgery.

Baricitinib in the Treatment of Kohlmeier-Degos Disease in Patients With Neurological Involvement
Recruiting
Background: Kohlmeier-Degos (KD) is a rare disease that causes inflammation and blood clots, leading to blockages in small blood vessels. These blockages can result in K-D lesions throughout the body, affecting the skin, lungs, heart, spinal cord, and brain. KD can be fatal. No treatment exists for this disease. Objective: To test a study drug (baricitinib) in people with brain and spine lesions caused by KD disease. Baricitinib is FDA approved to treat other disorders but has not yet been tr... Read More

NIAID Centralized Sequencing Protocol
Recruiting
Background: Genetic testing called "sequencing" helps researchers look at DNA. Genes are made of DNA and are the instructions for our bodies to function. We all have thousands of genes. DNA variants are differences in genes between two people. We all have lots of variants. Most are harmless and some cause differences like blue or brown eyes. A few variants can cause health problems. Objective: To understand the genetics of immune disorders various health conditions, as well as outcomes of cli... Read More

Substudy 02B: Safety and Efficacy of Pembrolizumab in Combination With Investigational Agents or Pembrolizumab Alone in Participants With First Line (1L) Advanced Melanoma (MK-3475-02B/KEYMAKER-U02)
Recruiting
Substudy 02B is part of a larger research study where researchers are looking for new ways to treat advanced melanoma that has not been treated before. The larger study is the umbrella study. Researchers want to know if adding other treatments to pembrolizumab can treat advanced melanoma. The goals of this study are to learn: * About the safety and how well people tolerate pembrolizumab given with other treatments * How many people have melanoma that responds (gets smaller or goes away) to trea... Testing the Addition of Herceptin Hylecta or Phesgo to the Usual Chemotherapy for HER2 Positive Endometrial Serous Carcinoma or Carcinosarcoma
Recruiting
This phase III trial tests whether adding trastuzumab and hyaluronidase-oysk (Herceptin Hylecta \[TM\]) or pertuzumab, trastuzumab and hyaluronidase-zzxf (Phesgo \[TM\]) to the usual chemotherapy (paclitaxel and carboplatin) works to shrink tumors in patients with HER2 positive endometrial cancer. Trastuzumab and pertuzumab are monoclonal antibodies and forms of targeted therapy that attach to specific molecules (receptors) on the surface of tumor cells, known as HER2 receptors. When trastuzumab... Read More

Observational Study of Advanced Data Analytics in Genetic Conditions
Recruiting
Background: The genes a person is born with can sometimes cause serious diseases. Genetic diseases are rare, but they can have a big impact on the people they affect. Researchers have already made great strides in understanding how some genes cause disease. But they would like to have even better tools to analyze and understand genetic data. To create these new tools, they need to gather health and genetic data from a lot of people. Objective: This natural history study will gather medical in... Read More

A Study of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring-Based Atezolizumab Dosing
Recruiting
Background: A type of drug called monoclonal antibody immune checkpoint inhibitors are often used in cancer treatment. These drugs help the body s immune system fight cancer by blocking proteins that cause cancer cells to grow. One of these drugs (atezolizumab) is approved to treat certain cancers. Researchers want to find out if lower doses of this drug might provide the same benefit with fewer adverse effects. Objective: To test different doses and timing of atezolizumab for people with can... Read More

A Research Study Comparing How Well Different Doses of the Medicine NNC0487-0111 Lower Blood Sugar in People With Type 2 Diabetes
Recruiting
The study will look at how well different doses of a new medicine called NNC0487-0111 help lower the blood sugar and body weight in people with type 2 diabetes. NNC0487-0111 is a new medicine which cannot be prescribed by doctors but has previously been tested in humans. Participants will either get NNC0487-0111, which is given as tablets or as injections, or placebo. Which treatment the participant get is decided by chance. The study will last for about 43 weeks.
