A Randomized Trial to Evaluate Sequential vs Simultaneous Patching
Recruiting
A randomized trial to determine whether simultaneous treatment with spectacles and patching has an equivalent VA outcome compared with sequential treatment, first with spectacles alone followed by patching (if needed), for previously untreated amblyopia in children 3 to \<13 years of age.

Assessing Minimal Residual Disease by Next- Generation Sequencing to Minimize Exposure in People With CLL or SLL Who Have Been Treated With Venetoclax
Recruiting
This study will find out whether people with CLL or SLL who have received treatment with venetoclax, either alone or in combination with another drug, and who are found to be MRD-negative, can stop treatment with venetoclax and remain off-treatment for 12 months or more. The researchers will also see whether study participants remain MRD-negative after they stop treatment with venetoclax.

Theta Burst Stimulation Plus Habit Override Training for Compulsive Behaviors
Recruiting
This project seeks to identify causal neural mechanisms underlying unwanted, repetitive behaviors (compulsions). Using non-invasive brain stimulation coupled with practice in a computer task, we will modulate activity in a target brain region and measure effects on compulsive behaviors and related measures. This work could ultimately lead to the ability to treat compulsions more effectively by targeting the regions of the brain that can help or hinder attempts to overcome compulsions.

Bevacizumab Treatment For Type 1 ROP
Recruiting
Type 1 retinopathy of prematurity in zone I represents the most severe type of ROP and has the worst prognosis. It is unknown whether low-dose bevacizumab will be successful in these severe cases. Also unknown is the timing and extent of peripheral retinal vascularization after low-dose bevacizumab compared with the standard dose. The current study will evaluate whether doses of 0.063 mg and 0.25mg are effective as treatment for type 1 ROP, with ROP and retinal vessels all in zone I.

Safety and Efficacy of the Sentinel Cerebral Protection Device in Atrial Fibrillation Ablation
Recruiting
The purpose of the study is to see if the Sentinel® Cerebral Protection System may prevent occurrence of stroke during an ablation procedure for atrial fibrillation (AF). The secondary purpose of this study is to study if cognitive function after AF ablation differs between those treated with the Sentinel cerebral protection device and those who do not receive the device.

Glutathione, Brain Metabolism and Inflammation in Alzheimer's Disease
Recruiting
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is associated with significant, progressive cognitive decline. Key defects in mitochondrial fuel metabolism insulin resistance, inflammation and decreased brain glucose uptake are linked to AD. This trial will investigate the effects of supplementing glycine and N-acetylcysteine vs. alanine as placebo on these defects in AD, and examine the effects on cognition.

Effects of 100% Orange Juice on Skin Health in Women
Recruiting
Daily consumption of Orange Juice (OJ) protects skin against UV-induced damages and wrinkling, improves skin barrier function and overall skin health by decreasing oxidative stress, inflammation, and protein glycation. The positive effects of OJ on skin appearance are associated with improvements of the stratum corneum lipidomic and skin microbiome.

Mindfulness-Based Intervention for Latino Cancer Patients and Their Caregivers
Recruiting
This clinical trial develops effective and appropriate mindfulness-based interventions that help meet the needs of Latino cancer patients and their family caregivers. Mindfulness-based interventions focus on building awareness of thoughts, emotions/feelings, and the sensations. This study may help improve mental well-being and reduce stress and anxiety associated with having cancer or with a family member's cancer diagnosis.

Gemcitabine and Oxaliplatin Chemotherapy With or Without a Floxuridine and Dexamethasone Pump in People With Cholangiocarcinoma That Cannot Be Removed With Surgery
Recruiting
This study will compare the safety and effects of HAI floxuridine and dexamethasone combined with the standard chemotherapy drugs gemcitabine and oxaliplatin (GemOx) with those of GemOx alone in people with untreated cholangiocarcinoma that cannot be removed with surgery. The researchers want to find out whether the study treatment works better than the standard chemotherapy to delay progression of disease. For the study treatment to be considered better than the standard treatment, the study tr... Read More

Protocol For Genomically Profiling, Collecting, Archiving And Distributing Blood And Bone Marrow Specimens From Children And Young Adults With Hematologic Malignancy
Recruiting
This research study is a genomic profiling and repository study for children and young adults who have leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) or myeloproliferative syndrome (MPS). Genes are the part of cells that contain the instructions which tell cells how to make the right proteins to grow and work. Genes are composed of DNA letters that spell out these instructions. Genomic profiling helps investigators understand why the disease develops and the instructions that led to its development. U... Read More

Preoperative Radiosurgery for the Treatment of High Grade Glioma, NeoGlioma Trial
Recruiting
This phase I trial finds out the possible benefits and/or side effects of radiosurgery before surgery (preoperative) in treating patients with high grade glioma. Radiosurgery uses special equipment to position the patient and precisely give a single large dose of radiation to the tumor. This method may kill tumor cells with fewer doses over a shorter period and cause less damage to normal tissue. Giving pre-operative radiosurgery may improve the odds of brain tumor control and reduce treatment-r... Read More
