Using Dichoptic Therapy to Treat Intermittent Exotropia
Recruiting
Intermittent exotropia is difficult to treat. The mainstay of treatment involves surgery, and in one long-term study authors found that as many as 60% of IXT required at least one re-operation.Patching of the non-dominant eye has also been tested in a large, multi-center randomized control trial and was not found to have a large benefit. More non-surgical treatment modalities are critical to improve the care in this condition.

Light-Activated Antimicrobial Therapy to Prevent Surgical Site Infections
Recruiting
This is a Phase 3 multi-center, group-randomized, crossover trial to compare nasal antimicrobial photodisinfection therapy (aPDT) with standard of care for prevention of surgical site infections in patients undergoing major elective, urgent, or emergent surgeries in a hospital setting. The main outcomes are to: 1. compare the efficacy, and 2. estimate the safety of applying nasal (aPDT) before surgery in reducing the incidence of SSIs within the initial 30 days after surgery compared to standar... Effects of Metabolic Testing Data and Education on Attitudes and Beliefs Related to Carbohydrate Intake in Adolescent Female Athletes
Recruiting
Many studies have consistently shown that females across sports under consume carbohydrate. Registered dietitians working with athletes have also reported female athletes chronically under consume carbohydrate. The primary objective of this study is to compare the effectiveness of education versus education plus interpreted individual metabolic (exercise) testing results to change attitudes and beliefs of female athletes regarding carbohydrate intake. The secondary objective is to assess the eff... Read More

Comparative Effectiveness of MRgFUS Versus CTgRFA for Osteoid Osteomas
Recruiting
Osteoid osteomas are painful, benign bone tumors that occur most frequently in young males between ages 10 and 20 years. The goal of the proposed study is based on the premise that MRgFUS is noninferior to CT-guided radiofrequency ablation (CTgRFA), in terms of pain reduction following treatment of osteoid osteomas, and offers possible improvements with regards to 1) post-procedural pain, 2) clinical resource utilization, 3) patient experience, and/or 4) adverse events. The data from the current... Read More

Family-Based Treatment for Type 1 Diabetes
Recruiting
Type 1 Diabetes carries high burden for affected youth and their families. Advances in insulin therapy and technology have been associated with increased obesity with 1/3 adolescents being overweight/obese. Since obesity runs in families and carries risk for poor outcomes psychologically and medically, the investigators are adapting our successful evidence-based Family Based Treatment for hybrid delivery to improve obesity and metabolic control in the affected youth and improve obesity and relat... Targeted Treatment for Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer That Has a MET Exon 14 Skipping Gene Change (An Expanded Lung-MAP Treatment Trial)
Recruiting
This phase II Expanded Lung-MAP treatment trial tests tepotinib with or without ramucirumab for the treatment of patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (stage IV) or that has come back after a period of improvement (recurrent). Tepotinib is used in patients whose cancer has a mutated (changed) form of a gene called MET. It is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking t... Read More

Exploring Neurophysiological Markers of Brain Health
Recruiting
The combination of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and electroencephalography (EEG) has been suggested as a promising brain imaging tool for identifying biomarkers of brain health. In this pilot study, study investigators will explore the neurophysiological metrics of brain health with a non-invasive brain imaging technique, alongside behavioral and fMRI metrics collected through another study (NCT04869111).
